Michael Parkinson has died at the good old age of 88.

The age of the Chat Show is now long gone and probably wouldn't be allowed now (or certainly some of the guests), but back in the day the likes of Billy Connolly and Muhamad Ali being on 'Parkie' then Match of the Day was absolutely brilliant !

    RIP Parkie <rose>

I used to love 'Parkie' brilliant at asking pertinent questions and seeking answers, Rod Hull and Emu was another great bit of fun.

RIP Parkie, a real good ol' Yorkshire boy <rose>

The format is old hat now, I really enjoyed it at the time, like Angelic said much of the content wouldn’t be allowed now. His interviews with Muhammad Ali, and Billy Connelly in particular are pieces of TV history.

No one else even came close to Pakie’s ability to ask questions and get insights that went to the core of the interviewee,

    RIP Parkie <rose>

his greatest talent was to know the right time to talk, but when he had a guest like billy connoly or david niven in full flow he let them go on, said nothing and let us just enjoy.
