Former Metropolitan Police commissioner Lord Ian Blair has died at the age of 72. The senior officer led the London force between 2005 and 2008 - and was at the forefront of the response to the 7/7 Tube bombings that killed 52 people. He was also in charge when, two weeks later, armed officers shot dead Brazilian electrician Jean Charles de Menezes, after mistaking him for a terror suspect.
Last week, Gary 'Gaz' Colveson. East Hull lad, City face in the very early 70's and a top lad in every sense of the word around town. Very smart, trendy, friendly, likeable, good to be around and a Hull City fan. Deserves a mention on a Hull City fans site. RIP matey.
My uncle, Barry Wray, is currently at deaths door in HRI. A long time HKR fan and greyhound owner at Craven Park, he had Sky Sports Racing on every minute of every day, I think his telly thought it only had that channel. Recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s he had gone to the doctors with a water infection a week ago, within a few days he’d deteriorated very quickly and was taken into hospital. He’s 80 years old but age is just a number, he has always been an all round good guy, I went to visit him tonight, Mrs LBIA is there every day, talking to him as they say that the last thing to go is your hearing, they have him on Midazolam and morphine via a drip, end of life care, he's just laid oblivious, looks like he’s in a deep sleep, the medical staff say that he only has days left, it’s very sad, I’m going to miss him. I’m truly hoping that he goes to a better place
