Tragedies in motor sports never come in singles. NASCAR Driver Jason Leffler sadly passed away this evening following a heavy crash while racing a sprint car. I hope that's the last for a for some time. RIP.
Condolences to his family and friends. Oval racing needs some changes it seems based on incidents in the last few years.
I feel for his family, but, once again, could any of us ask for a better way to die than whilst doing something we truly love?
He was racing sprint cars on a dirt oval at the time. Those little things are just basically roll cages with wheels and engine strapped to them. Pretty light and go like the wind.
