So there you go guys, god knows how many years of good work has been killed off. http://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/ipswich...ot_to_apply_for_category_one_status_1_1335122 http://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/ipswich...ffected_paul_jewell_s_player_budget_1_1335164 the short sightedness of this club is unbelieveable!
obviously happy for my club as it helps them out enormously but sad for you guys. the people at the top just don't seem to get their priorities right - i realise its an expensive proposition but surely sacrificing some top earners for a top, sustained youth system would be better? i don't know - there are pros and cons to the system and i'm not totally happy with it but you must be pretty fed up with this decision.
Well I don't think that's a shock to anyone. What wasn't good was the obvious delaying tactics while people renewed their season tickets. I think we'd all rather PJ had NO player budget and that in five years' time we had some players coming through. The man just doesn't understand figures. He'll lose more than a million in ticket revenue over this decision
Second rate youth set-up for a second rate club with second rate fans. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SL8honNpOr0 - I urge you to listen from the start to around the 20 second mark.
Wow Carra, I am quite surprised at this post, you really are a genuine arsehole. I would say you have a long way to fall, but well, you haven't really have you?
Events in the last couple of days have left a bad taste in my mouth, so I make absolutely no apology.
Sir Bobby and the Cobbold's will be turning in their graves. Over 40 years of hard work, dedication and care has all been ripped up in just 3 years! Well done Clegg
"We're ****ing loaded!" Ahhh well, look on the bright side the £1 million saved on a category one academy will pay Leadbitter's wages for a few months so he can continue to carry your team.
You've missed something, but I'm not going to bother going on about it anymore. Needless to say, things will be different from now on.
We don't know the full implications as yet and I guess that the devil is all in the detail. £2 Million is a lot of money balanced against the new financial fair play rules and the need to recruit some of 'todays' players not 'tomorrows'. As long as Jewell doesn't go out and recruit 'yesterdays' players as he has done this year. I am not happy about the signals this sends out to potential young players and it has just blown away another pillar on which we had become famous for! The position we are in, we must make promotion the number 1 objective and tomorrows players aren't going to secure it for us in the short term.
Well Carra I've no clue what's gone on but if you are just going to come on here and insult us then you won't be welcome.
When Ryan Bennett is playing regularly for us it's going to hurt ... but not half as much as when we sign Jordan Rhodes... Sorry guys.
You've got £10 Million Mind you we have a 25% Sell on clause on anything over £850K so that will be nice!
