I am just wondering , what is the real reason behind RF moving to us for one year ? With Downes now gone , is there a defensive coaching position in sight for him ? With Harry due to retire (supposedly at the end of the season) , is there a manager's position available after spending one year getting to know the team and the club , interesting to see what comes.
From what I'm told and have read, he used to live in London and likes the place, he has his current home up for sale so it looks like he really does want to settle back there again. Whatever else happens is an added bonus.
I've seen quiet a few associating downes leaving and rio joining as a sign he's been offered a future coaching role. But I think he's aiming more towards the media side of football. He also owns a film/production company hence the awful programme of him in Rio last week. Of course he'll be passing on his vast knowledge while he's here, but I don't think he's here to become a coach, might change? But I think rio fancies himself in front of the camera more than a track suit on the touch line.
