Just reported on BBC. Mr Ferdinand will not be in the squad for the euro's. Read into this what you may, but the title of my thread is a question for you. Is he being racist by refusing to play with Terry before the man has been convicted? Would he do the same if Patrice Evra called his brother the "N" word. Fergie has said he is not capable of playing a match every 4 days, yet he has just completed 30 games this year. More than any since 2008. Methinks Hodgson has put Terry ahead of him. Would you turn down the chance of playing for your country because you thought you may have to don the same shirt as a racist, or would you soldier on and do the right thing ?

I thought it was Hodgson that would have decided to leave him out?

Yes. Quite clearly Hodgson had a meeting with both of them to ascertain whether they were prepared to play together. We will never really know which one said "Nay". But my money is on Rio.

How on Earth do you manage to turn this into a race issue? They're both well past their best and the squad would probably be better off without either of them for the long term but Terry is the marginally better player at the moment. It's no more than that.

You're mostly right here, except Terry is a lot better now than Ferdinand, but also past his best. Because of his gung ho style, his age, and even a slight decline in speed , will see him fall away quickly. Definitely good for one more season, but will need the odd match out to rest.
