i think this has been our 1 weakness all season, i thought with punch coming back would help but he seems to have gone out of favor. chaplow has yet to regain any form. guly/spidey are not suited to the job. richardson has generally been very good but has suffered from niggling injuries, and his deputy butters has been also injured and has played poorly. harding has been tried there and got skinned. so what do we do? its only six games so continue with chappers and hope he gets better, i like the guy but he is all about energy and workrate, he will get no change from a quick left back. waste guly in this position. give young mcqueen a try? although he is a lefty, he would have to be something special to replace lallana- so he may have to move to the right. steeevie is probably the most natural but lacks end product, at least he can beat players which means defenders have to double up on him and thus leave space for others. we really missed lamberts movement on saturday, leaving the midfield unable to pick out our forward players. wait until summer and buy a really good winger

Richardson will be back on Saturday I suspect. If Guly does play, I hope it's on the right. He CAN play there, as demonstrated against teams at home at the start of the season but he's got to be in the mood and linking up well with Lambert/Sharp. I think the success of the role early doors had a lot to do with Connolly. His link-up play was superb but I doubt he'll get a look in for the rest of the season.

De Ridder off the bench Saturday for some impact hopefully.

I wouldn't say it is a weakness, i just don't think we have had any consistency in that position.
I would like to see Falque given a go. This boy clearly has ability and i reckon he is probably one of the best technique wise. He seems to be doing well in the u21's too. Although i wouldn't play him saturday.
Also i do not think Guly is wasted on the right. When he cuts inside it allows richardson to bomb round the outside and provide crosses for Rickie.

I agree in our midfield for sure it is the weak spot.

I'd go with Guly and Richardson and the right-side duo if Rickie is fit for Pompey, with him partnering Billy up top.

It is one of the priorities for the summer I'd say. We could do with injecting some pace too.
