Saw this video showing all of Lambert's league goals last season and thought I'd share, nice to look back at the crucial goals he scored for us
Here's a chart of where he put the ball in the net, for pens, headers, left foot and right foot inside the box and his lonely yet classy finish for outside the box. http://twitter.com/SFCPlayerStats/status/222671496944959490/photo/1
On a recent thread where there was a discussion about who was the better player Messi or Ronaldo, a lot was made of Ronaldo's free kicks. Someone said they were brilliant, someone else said they were't because of the poor ratio of goals he actually scored. What surprised me is that Ricky didn't score any last year and yet some of his free kicks are superb. It seemed like he scored from everyone the previous season. I remember that he didn't shoot quite as often last year, trying the 'far post to Fonte' ball instead. I'm trying to think if there were many great saves, near misses etc. Thanks for posting the vid by the way.
he has a strike rate of 1 goal each 1.69 games, truely excellent stats, I challenge anyone to find better in any league
Looking at that stat, all of Lambert's headers have been from Richardson/Butterfield crosses to the back post. Quite surprising. Shows that they practice that regulary in training. As for the penalties, I can remember one or two being directly down the middle.
Wimple don't believe me when I say how underrated he is. But he really is an incredible player! Has everything!
Rickie is such a legend, my favourite player ever. Those 2 pens against Millwall were a season defining moment. And I think it says a lot about us as a team that he grabbed the ball out the net at 2-2 and they ran back with the ball to the half way line in that particular game..it was pretty even but we were determined to win it
