I watched the match on Football First and I want to give a mentioned to Kieran Richardson. I thought he was excellent last night. O'Neill seems to know just how to get the best out of him.
Agreed - I think him and Cattermole (who have both been big scapegoats recently) both had good games last night
Agree that Ricco had a good game last night - him and Bardo kept wright-phillips quiet and still got forward to attack. good stuff. Cattermole also pleasantly surprised me (well, except for that yellow card - no surprise there) - hope he can keep it up if MON decides that he should stay captain. I havent rated him for a couple of seasons, but if MON can get him back to the way he was before his 1st back injury I'll be happy.
IMO, Richardson gets a lot of undeserved stick because he always gives 100%. Its no good calling him for being a LB because he never pretends he is, its where he is asked to play and all he can do is his best. That said I dont think he is a bad LB, just a btter winger.
Richardson was class last night, and in my opinion, the only reason he has ever deserved stick is down to his unnecessary bookings....
Disagree about his yellow mate - he had to bring that player down as he was running dangerously at our defence - he did what he had to there - think we'd have been disappointed if he'd let him run and it led to a goal!! (It's the needlessly stupid yellows that annoy me!) - I hope Catts reamins with us as I do rate the lad (and haven't been shy of saying it on here!)
It's no surprise he got one, you telling me it surprised you or you were expecting Catts not to get a yellow? I actually agree he had to stop the player getting through, but my expectation is for Catts get a yellow whatever happens even if the ref has to make a new rule up just to do so.
I couldn't get a decent stream last night, couldn't even get it on the radio so had to be kept up to date via the BBC & TalkShite. The BBC said that both our bookings were for unsporting behaviour. Can anyone shed any light on this for me?
Got to agree with Marcus on Cattermole's booking, thought he took one for the team, Faurlin I think it was broke from midfield and was running at the defence. I'd rather a booking and free kick 40 yards out over a chance for QPR. Thought Larsson played really well in the first half as well as everyone else who has been mentioned, tore Traore a new rear end.
Watched the match last night. Both yellow cards were for fouls. One late tackle by Sess and a deliberate tackle for Catts.. No unsporting behaviour.
Not to diss Ricardo or anything but thought he could have passed instead of shooting a couple of times but that's my only complaint about him.
Just like to point you in the direction of a thread I made a while back saying Ricco could be your best player if he got a run in the team in his favoured position. I'm not a bad judge of ability you know
