Probably a controversial first post but is Richards really as bad as what people say? Personally I don't think he is that bad, certainly a lot less hoof compared to last season and certainly is a yard or two quciker than lawrence.
Welcome to you. It depends if you want quality or quantity ? Richards is O.K as a L2 CB, ( fairly old school style .) He is in the team to provide a big physical presence at the back - and has done a reasonable job. He would probably be the first to admit that his footwork is not the best. He has reduced the number of times that he justs hoofs the ball - a good thing too - as we should be passing ( and moving much more quickly ) up the field - so to hoof the ball invariably ends up with losing possession. At the moment Richards is in a team that isn't quite doing it. He is no worse (or better )than the rest. UTG
i'd disagree with that where other players around him have faultered in defence this year (lawrence against wycombe & fish against in the last couple of away games) he has been very solid. i think the problem he had early in his gills life was he was paired with a fully fit and firing (player of the season) king, which to be honest just made him look bad as he wasnt as good as king. yes his long range passing or hoof as you call it may not be the most accurate in the world but tbh neither is a lot of other players in our team. for me since he came in as cover he has played very well been solid and only had a few minor slip ups and frampton although fit has been left on the bench for a reason and i think some of that must be to do with richards form atm.
