For me a talent that went unfulfilled and always felt he didn't posses too much between the ears, especially judging his behaviour on that sunny afternoon in Oldham for the 1st leg of the play-off semi final. (We would surely have won the Final with the form he was in at the time).
What an anomaly then to read quite a few of his recent articles which are well versed, balanced, generally intelligent and thought provoking. He obviously still holds alot of thought for the rrrrrrs and believe it was he and not his replacement Ainsworth that should have been destined to be an rrrrrrrs legend.

Where do these articles appear; can you provide a link please?

One of those players who seemed destined for a top-tier career that materialized - a bit like Paul Murray in that respect. Still think he was a quality player who never fulfilled his potential.

I always read his stuff, he makes a lot of sense and its weird how this guy was one who seemed to waste his talent. Well at least until he started writing articles. He also has his own blog somewhere as well which is a good read too.

Loved him as a player and was gutted he went to Cardiff of all teams after THAT play-off final.

Writes intelligently, like a true fan and offers an insight that only modern professional footballers can provide.

Got sent off so that he didn't appear in the play-off final against Cardiff then got transferred to Cardiff. More of a conspiracy than 9/11!!

    My sentiments exactly.

Wasn't he hampered by quite a few injuries? I think that was one of the reasons he didn't fulfill his potential.

Where as Leon Jean.... Don't even get me started on him. That was a kid who wasted his talent.
