When all is said and done in the play-offs it is richly ironic that a club like Cardiff, who were bankrolled by Premier League clubs loaning them players, have blown an automatic place which was theirs for the taking and then a home play-off having done the hard part first. The famous lack of bottle struck again, players who earn a fortune but were paid only a small amount of it by Cardiff have let them down at the business end of the season. Hopefully, there will be a change in the rules that give certain clubs a 'free ride' in loaning players they patently can't afford to the detriment of the other clubs in that league. In the end Cardiff got exactly what they deserved, nothing!
Let down by their LOAN keeper and their LOAN J E T missing sitters, they went about things the wrong way and got what the deserved, beaten by a better TEAM, hello to all my Cardiff fans reading this!
I think we should be a little careful in slagging off clubs that use the loan system. We have been known to do so ourselves with varying degrees of success. Remember Kyle Walker? But then again Tamas Priskin? We may well resort to it next season as well and it may be our best bet for survival. A couple of Arsenal’s reserves maybe just what we need. Last season we did have maybe 5 players in on loan at one point – not that it did us much good.
I hear ya mate, but Craig Bellamy FC while they owed money all over, didn't seem right to me, and I'm glad it failed. I didn't like it when we were overloaded with loans either, doesn't work does it!
they got what they deserved, once again they failed to turn up, loans dont really care as they go back to there parent clubs,Bellamy tho is different he realy wanted to get Cardiff to the prem but in reality they just were not good enough
A fair point Rollercoaster but Walker wasn't a regular recognised big name PL player and he was only here for 3 months. The odd loan with option to buy is ok but building the nucleus of a team when you haven't got the money is patently wrong, we found out last season that the heart isn't in it when the going gets tough.
In some ways, that is also true of signings, which is why I'm favouring young, aspiring players ahead of too many seasoned old pros. A couple of old heads will be needed of course. I actually thought that Bellamy was "disappointing" for Cardiff. They didn't seem to be any better with him in the team, than without. He should have made a tremendous difference. Maybe playing for his home team was too much for him.
