Excuse me young man. Are you perchance suggesting that Fulham afficionados are better spoken that us denizens of Loftus Road? I cannot concur I'm afraid. With the minor exception of the young lady in the Ellerslie Road stand conveniences who was recently heard to bellow "'ere, why are you pukin on me f'ing trainers" the standard of language used by our jolly band of supporters has improved markedly in recent years. Why it was only a few weeks back when I was singing along with gusto to the tune "My old man said be a Chelsea fan, I said not likely but thanks for offering". Haha! What a wizard jape that was. As it happens I do bump into the odd Fulham supporter in my local wine bar and I find them all to be jolly decent chaps after exchanging a spritzer or two but it saddens me to report that their use of the Queen's English has sadly regressed in recent times probably due to all that dumbing down at the BBC and Channel 4. As one said to me just the other day "I say, if you do not desist from nudging my glass of Bordeaux I will have to insist you buy me another". I believe those with this level of ignorance are commonly know as 'Chavs' these days. After all, who else would say Bordeaux rather than Claret? Come along our Rs!
