Not that I totally understand how it works but was reading about the rules on hiring foreign players these days on pasoti, Apparently the rules have been relaxed for Championship and down so it is easier to bring them in subject to...........whatever the new rules are.

Absolutely no idea who this chap is or how good he is or isn't. Mind you I could have said the same about all the previous signings as well so my usual applies. I will reseve judgement until I have seen him kick a ball in anger for us. I trust the Argyle system.

Anyone know when we last had a player who'd previously been on the books at Arsenal, Barcelona and Athletico Madrid?

I suspect the new rules you're referring to are the ones that post Brexit allow a few high-wage workers into the country from the EU, rather than those awful people with foreign accents who used to come in and do things like keep the NHS going, fix your plumbing, provide you with food and drink in your local hostelry and harvest British crops. Football has managed to get various dispensations: just as well as the Premier League would be playing 5-a-side otherwise.

Julio Pleguezuelo has had a few injuries during his career including during season 2020/21....204 days out with a cruciate ligament rupture (CLR)....he does seem to have made a successful recovery from this serious injury.....a reasonably quick turn around (7 months) for this type of injury.

Found an article about a scuffle Julio got involved in.

A recent match between FC Twente and Sparta Rotterdam was in the 99 minute and both teams where striving for a winner.

Assistant Coach Jeroen Rijsdijk of Sparta grabbed Julio stopping him playing the ball....Julio went for the coach...but fortunately the Ref jumped in and stopped it and sent the coach off.

Just watched Julio Pleguezuelo’s “Welcome To Argyle” interview.

He says most at FC Twente couldn’t pronounce his name either but it doesn’t matter as he much prefers to be called “Pleggy” and that’ll do him. Very modest and unassuming.

The subject of the illustrious clubs on his CV came up. He says yes, he has a good CV but that doesn’t mean anything. He waxes lyrical about his time at Arsenal and loves English football. He has a wife and 2 children and it sounds as though they live in England from that period. He says his life is in England and he loves the passion in our football. He did his research on Argyle and the support was a significant attraction for him. The thing he’s looking forward to most is scoring at Home Park.

He speaks good English, if you were being uncharitable you might say he speaks it better and has more to say than some players who are born and bred here.

In the clips included in the interview, he looks quick and good on the ball, just as we were told he was.

Haven’t seen him play properly of course but if he does it as well as he handles an interview, we won’t be disappointed.

Looks future Captain material....He did the job well for Arsenal U21's and won a trophy with them.

He looks capable of turning defence into attack with reasonable pace.

"very modest and unassuming" Of course he is or he wouldn't fit the Argyle profile. They will all be the same.

I'm not sure if someone is trying to cause mischief ....but their is a rumour that we are close to announcing the signing of Joel Latibeaudiere a defender who is leaving Swansea on a free.

The thought of having in defence,,,,,Pleguezuelo and Latibeaudiere must be an announcers nightmare.

Well at least the Ref will be reluctant to book either of them. Blessings in disguise there somewhere.

I expect the Ref will be pleased that they've all got a number on their back.

Been listening how PLEGUEZUELO is pronounced.

To me it sounds like.......PLEG-U-DWELO.....that is how it sounds in the Oxford Dictionary.

But he is happy being called.....PLEGGY.....so problem solved.

Story in the WMN today saying “Argyle in talks to bring back some loan stars” under a picture of Finn Azaz and Bali Mumba.

Neil Dewsnip is quoted as saying “Some of those conversations were stopped dead, some of them are very much alive”.

The full list given is Azaz, Mumba, Cosgrove, Lonwijk, Matete and Whittaker.
