you were a kid and your mam and dad took you to Blakpool on the bus? I'm sure I was not the only one, well you always had a little game of, "see who spots the tower first".

Todays game is,"see who spots the latest BC visitor first".

The older members will remember those days before comutors, no xboxes or DVD's, even before we all had a telly in the corner of the sitting room, we have lounges now with the telly on the wall. And a car, ger a way, we didnt have a car, me dad had a bike for work and the rest it was walk or the bus.

We had full footy ground because there was no sky, footy in pubs and how could you have a dodgy internet feed without a computor?

I'm into ramble mode again but you know despite my rose tinted glasses and selective memory I have to say sorry Niall but do I want full stadiums, yes I do but I want the freedom and fantastic options of today more.

We have, I read, around a 35,000 min at our games and that puts us well up the attendance league so if we have to sell our top players to survive then god help all of those who dont get the 35,000.

I really do wish the club would look at the 35,000 plus who go rather than the 10,000 who dont, close the bloody premier concorse and fill downstairs to make it look full if its a better atmosphere you want but start saying thank you to me rather than trying to stop people doing what they want, like going to the pub. I dont go to the pub but cant see how I have any right to tell others they cant, ask them to come to the SoL yes but to go on and on and on, no.

    Anyone seen the tower yet?

£10 tickets in the extension, which is always empty, problem solved? 80k a match plus beer and food spend, and wouldn't alienate season card holders as you wouldn't by a season card in there!

Full price for cat a games, when it's always full.

    Too simple?

You must come from money Syd? we never got past Richmond, those were the days eh? a week in a tin caravan, who needs to go abroad?

I'm just wondering if he'll be a little more inventive with his user name? somehow doubt it.

    Syd,

You must come from a wealthy background!!

Blackpool was where my older brothers went for a single week during shipyard fortnight.

The furthest 'overseas' destination we went for a day as kids was Crimdon Dene or very occasionally it was Barney Castle!!

Crimdon Dene, happy days, my sister was Miss Thornley one year and we all had a day to see her in the contest.

Although not quite as old as some, the best (worst) day out I had was when my mam and dad booked a "Mystery Tour". Remember them, you piled into a bus and you didn't know your destination???? We got the bus through to Newcastle - Worswick St bus station?, and boarded the bus, my little heart was beating with excitement. The excitement lasted 30 minutes as our mystery destination turned out to be the beach at Roker.

We walked the mile home with my mam and dad engaged in a bitter argument about whose bright idea it was in the first place..... Happy days

My mam took me and my sister on the Mystery Tour bus every summer, with Roberts Coaches. Problem was we lived in a little village and by the time we left everyone knew the destination by the road the driver took out of the village.

During the war we never even got out of Shields, and when it finished it was either Cullercoats or Whitley Bay. We were so poor that we lived in a hole !!

    God you're all old buggars.

My first ever holiday was to Morocco, never had the pleasure of getting dragged around Britains 'resorts'

I like the lakes and Loch Lomond mind, but as a whole, every opportunity to get out of the country i take.

Managed to tie in my first holiday this year so i don't have to miss a home game, the mrs didn't even wonder why we are going 2 weeks late.

    Clever me.

I still like my mix and now have the time to enjoy. I go to Blackpool at least twice a year, normaly for a long weekend but next month its Monday to Friday. Same hotel on the front with great food and walks. Then I like Cyprus at least once a year and one other, last year it was Malta, may be Portugal this.

My room, after dark and I will provide the gong

then the winner will say what my first wife said on our wedding night, when I dropped my trousers,"Who the **** do you expect to satisfy with that"?

    Me was the reply.

My annual holiday is to Italy for two weeks in the summer (I'm half-Italian). We take the boat to St. Malo and drive down. 24 hours in a confined space with 5 other people!
    Fun.

My nanna was from Siena mate, i'm a massive fan of Italy.

We get over to a couple of Fiorentina games a year, Florence and Tuscany are just fantastic, never been St Malo, but i'm planning on getting over to Sicily and Sardinia at some point this year, if time allows.

St. Malo's a bit of a dump, it's just the closest French port to Jersey! We go to southern Tuscany, that's where my grandparents live. I'd recommend Rome, for obvious reasons, and Assisi.
