56 year old woman and I think 28 year old man just arrested, good.

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of assault after an attack on a 94-year-old woman from Birmingham.

Emma Winnall suffered a fractured skull, a broken arm and wrist and a partially severed finger at her home overnight on 30 April.

A woman, 56, and 28-year-old man from the Hall Green area of the city are in police custody after being arrested at about 06:30 BST on Thursday.

Yes, it was completely shocking. What sort of low life could do that to anyone never mind a defenceless 94 year old woman. Hope they have got them and they get put away for many years.

...and what if they are the forgiving kind?

If you let victims take control of punishment is that justice or vengeance?

well I have to say I'm sorry to hear the do gooder ****wit comments. I certainly dont consider myself a do gooder but simply cant agree with capital punishment, reasons given on the other thread.

For those who want capital punishment I may not agree but do respect your stance, pity those on the other side of the fence become do gooders and ****wits.

It's certainly a subject that doesn't seem to have any middle ground, it really is one or the other.

Maybe Comm had his back up about that comment from Siddall who is on the other side of the fence to us about Comm being just as bad as a murderer for his views, which I found very harsh and unfair.

To sum up, we should all agree to disagree and move onto the next subject. <ok>

Its OK, commo and I will never fall out over this or anything, capital punishment is very much a personal choice and I don't see those against as do gooders or those who are for to be murderers. Murder and punishment are serious things and its good to have serious debate.

Ta mate, but my backs not up, i'm a believer in my own stances, rightly or wrongly i will defend them....

When people talk about wheels within wheels or cliques on this forum, it is not true......i believe what i believe in, and no-one will change that...

Iv'e spent a lot of time in countries with the death penalty........and until an event effects you personally, it is easy to give the "i don't agree with with it view"

I was wondering in cases like this how many would disagree/agree with communative justice (punishment beatings)?

I'm sure I will sound strange to many but I am simply anti violence, never have liked it or understood it. That said I enjoy watching boxing and would never vote for it to be banned. I don't spend hours trying to figure out why, don't have deep meaningful arguments to give and don't have the answers to yes but what if.

In my time, long long ago, I would agree just to sound part of the majority, that stopped many years ago and I now speak from my inner feeling.

So right or wrong I cant accept violence as a punishment, just seems very wrong.

It's because you're a gentleman Syd and you don't seem to have a bad bone in your body and that comes across on here.

I have many bad bones mate and have done may things that I am ashamed of. Something happened to me after my second divorce, when came back home to Durham. Before that I was intolerant, very short fuse and an evil mouth. The car I drove and home I had were very important, none are now.

    I could get very deep.

The past is the past and will have made you the man you are today.

I could take a leaf out of your book. No patience, very short fuse, is where I am today and it's a constant struggle on a daily basis keeping it in.
