When Vaughan gave the ball away I laughed out loud........when he ruthlessly despatched the ball into the back of the net I nearly collapsed to the floor in hysterics! It was like watching Sunderland of old.....it brought back memories! It was quite hilarious!
Its nice to be able to laugh at the misfortunes of your own team! Its nice to be sitting with 8 games to go and be able to relax and enjoy games rather than worry about relegation or promotion! In 25 years of supporting Sunderland I can only remember 2-3 seasons where we didnt have the stress of nervously looking over our shoulder!

The only gripe I have is the our nack of us not turning up at the important games....no matter whose in charge or playing, when the chips are down we just seem to bottle it!

    However I'm still happy!

Just hope that the heads don't go down after the result last night as, prior to the game, all of the players were up for it and wanted it - just on the night we froze!

We'll see eh! You're right though - in 30 years watching us, I can;t rememerb it being so relaxed except for 2 years under Reidy! It's always been glancing back to see who's catching us!!

I didn't laugh last night but I am very relaxed. Not long ago that performance could have been the one that took us down, it wont do that now so enjoy what's left of the season.

As i said in the thread I started, if we can get this far under MON this season, I cant wait to see what he can do with a full pre-season of coaching, a couple of his own players bought in etc.

I dont expect miracles from him, and I dont expect it to go perfectly next season either (this is Sunderland after all), but I am exited about the possibilities.
