Reheem Sterling

I just read Rodgers comments on Sterling contract today on the official site.

No new new there really. But that little fact at the end is interesting.

So as it stands, Sterling has played more games than any one else on what is his break through season.

That is a big step up.


Sterling is an impressive talent. I feel confident enough that he will sign.

 

Gerrards the only player to have played every league minute so it must be down to the cup appearances

 

and Skrtel.

Sterling has come off the bench a fair few times in Europe and was involved in the EL qualifiers.

 

Actually Skrtel missed a league game a few weeks ago due to illness. Can't remember which game though for the life of me.

 

Oh yes your right. Chelsea.

Joe Allen has played every game to? Not sure if every minute though.

 

Sterling needs a rest. His goal to game ratio gets worse by the game

 

I mentioned this a few weeks ago, I think he's a good player but he reminds me a bit like Aaron Lennon in that he doesn't get much in the way of goals/assists which is a problem for a team that struggles for goals.

 

Problem for a team that is supposed to rely on penetration from his position. Too many matches: doing worse & worse but his agent will just point to all this appearances & fill the head with nonsense.

We're bolloxing another young player.

 

I understand why Sterling is playing, he is a real talent. But we do need goals from his position.

To be fair to Sterling, the only other players who have played in his position and scored in the league this season are Jose Enrique and Joe Cole, who have one each..

Borini, Suso, Downing and Assaidi are yet to score a league goal (or start a game in Assaidi's case...)

 

i read in the paper that Martin Kelly is not going to sign a new contract cos he's only been offered 35 grand a week

 

Sterlings been poor for the last few games, missing chances etc, he should have been subbed yesterday, why isn't suso getting off the bench?

 

Martin Kelly is a future captain. We can't afford to lose him

 

I'm not concerned about Kelly going elsewhere, no one seems to rate him outside of Liverpool because they're too busy bumming Walker. He'll sign a contract with us.

 

Frankly it is up to Raheem. Does he want to knuckle down continue improving with us, or go for the money and stagnate somewhere else. He can become a really special player or just another lennon,pennant,routledge,dyer,etc.
