Am i the only one who thought the ref was diabolical today. Handball in lead up to there 1st goal and how on earth there was 5 mins added on second half and 1 in the 1st half (should of been other way round). Also felt he wouldnt give any decisions our way n the 1st half. Rant over. just abit disapointed
No, my blood pressure went up in the first half to near critical levels due to the level of bias being shown. He obviously thought the iron were the underdogs and behaved in a wayt to give them a slping field to their advantage. BWP appeared to comment to the ref on this as he was being substituted and unfortunately the ref then decided to go the whole hog. I hope the referees assessor saw this and the guy doesnt get to ref any of our matches again.
Have a look at Rocky's very entertaining rant on the Wycombe board, Eastbourne - apparently theirs wasn't much better.
Every league 1 ref's the same they cant ref. they dont give yellows when they should and do when they shouldnt some of the challenges players get away with is unbelievable. i know its not the same but in the premier league u wouldnt get away with half the things players do in our league . there professional refs and should be able to do there job a satisfactory leavel if not they should be dropped or sacked
cheers tewkes i get the hump with these refs ,havent they ever heard of bloody specsavers or perhaps they cant see the shop their eyesight is that bad .but that wasnt the reason we lost we were crap and thats that, but it doesnt help when you are 1 nil down and you get a stonewall pen right in front of the ref and he is the only person in the ground that doesnt see it.even stevie wonder would have gave us our one today.
tewkes i have come up with an idea ,why dont we send the ref and the refs match assesser both to specsavers cos you buy one pair and you get one free
Ref was awful today, but Green was lucky not to get a red for his retaliation. Very frustrated with the officiating for sure.
yep I also made some comments about the ref in another thread this is the thing that frustrates me most about being in the lower leagues apart from the paltry media coverage is the further you drop down so does the standard of referring, Rocky i'm sure you've seen some real howlers in League Two. Who remembers last season was it Colchester at home when they scored, ref disallowed it, spoke to his linesman then changed his mind and gave it, spoke to the 4th official and then changed his mind a 2nd time and disallowed it just as we were about to re-start the game with a kick off. it's incompetencies like these that get swept under the carpet as its only a League One game, and as we've found out, lower league refs like to make a name for themselves at our ground as it's one of the rare ocassions in the season they will ref in front of a crowd 10,000+
having watched wycombe in the conference and then in the lower divisions of the football league for the last 25 years i really should be getting used to these crap linos and refs but they seem to be getting worse to be honest
The Ref today wasnt the one from the Colchester game last season was it Martinho??? I think I jinxed the situation last weekend though as I turned round and said I felt that Refs had got better this season after their performances at the Bournemouth and Notts Co. games
Addick4Life I don't think it was cos the foul on Euell he'd have spoken to the linesman then awarded a penalty then spoke to the 4th official and awarded a free kick after all
I think the ref obviously saw that the cafc fans were our 12th man and with scunthorpes diar support realised he had to be there 12th man so helped them out abit
Was ****, bottled it in injury time with that free-kick, was a penalty... then they go up other end a score!
I must concur with the above oppinions though to be honest the ref didnt lose us 2 points we did it ourselves.
The only way to escape the poor refereeing in this league is to win the games by a couple of clear goals. Because as we saw yesterday, we had chances, didn't take them and Scunny punished us for it. The referee didn't help matters but I do concur with MikeT that we should have sewn the game up earlier on.
Unfortunately though Ponders we can have all the chances in the world and we may not score because the opposition have a Goalkeeper on form, aka. us against Bournemouth last season / Colchester and Scunthorpe this season stopped us from getting more. A perfect example was Man City today - They had 25 shots on goal today yet only scored 3 goals which when you really think about it is an terrible average especially as they had over £100m of striking talent today and we had £250k's worth....
Too true, A4L. But that's football, eh? All ifs and buts. I still think we should have wrapped the game up but in all fairness to Scunny, they played well and will be up there at the end of the season. Without sounding too selfish, I am glad we drew with Scunny and not Notts Co or Colly, because I spent a lot of money on those matches and away wins are so great. Or does that just sound daft?
