I thought the ref on Monday was the best i`d seen a the valley for a long while,he let the game flow played advantage when he could and made very few mistakes.
Most refs this season i`d give 4 out of 10 yesterdays deserves an 8 .

Agree entirely Mike. He was let down a couple of times by his assistants.

He let Brentford kick **** out of BWP yet booked Wiggins for a slight delay in taking a free kick?

I would give him about 3/10 but I bet Brentford gave him a lot more <ok> He was indeed a very good ref for one team.

Normally the CAFC Player commentator gives every ref hell with the slightest dodgy decision against us - but i dont recall him saying much about him against Brentford.

I wasn't impressed with him myself. But I've given up on the standard of referring at this level.

It's scary how it's something football still can't ''get right''.

The ref gave us nothing all game, there was the handball situation when Brentford's right back tackled Greeny (?) with a sliding tackle and controlled it with his hand (the ref gave nothing!) 15 seconds later Wiggins did the same thing on the half way line (agreed this was a little more obvious) and the ref gave a free kick.

The little fat lino in front of East Stand did make me <laugh> but was the most competant out of the officials.

its league one, so you would expect league one standard refs. one of my friends bought a season ticket this year with her boyfriend. she didnt support anyone before, he's now totally addickted, and she still needs work. but she always comments on how refs at our games get it wrong so much, and usually against us.

i always thought the refs were just a bit rubbish and didnt like us, but hearing the same from a neutral is something to think about.

ps great result last night. operation leapfrog is going well, 2 man points issued to nicky maynard.

Don't disagree with much you post Mike, but I stick to my assessment posted shortly after the game -

"Dreadful referee, completely clueless. What was all that with the positioning of free kick and throws?"

Also, his determination of what constituted accidental or deliberate handball seemed to be based on what colour shirt the player was wearing.

Agree about the East Stand lino, AllHell - the West Stand one missed a considerable amount and seemed incapable of making a decision on his own.

BTW, does anyone know what that whinger Rosler is bleating about?

"It was a clear penalty and that cost us the game. That would have been the equaliser and that would have been a fair result."

Does this bloke never stop grizzling? The fair result was that we won. OK, they came at us, we expected that, but seriously what significant saves did Hamer have to make? Rhetorical question, really.

"Alan Pardew suffered terribly from referees' decisions during his tenure at Charlton," said Alan Pardew.

We all see things different but I really was inpressed with him compared with the usual refs we get.
Loved the way he played advantage...but maybe i`m in a minority on this occassion .
As for Uve thought it a nice touch that he clapped the north stand fans..what was left of us when he went down the tunnel.
I aint got a beef with him to be honest and he`s gonna see things differently to us as CP does to our opposition.
CP reckoned we deserved at draw at Orient didnt he ! ! !
