Someone on the Chav board has posted a photo of Avram Grant talking to Harry and Jamie Redknapp. All of them are kitted-out in Spurs regalia. I don't know how old that photo is, but it is a disturbing image.
Well it's looks like a certain Chelsea manager could be unemployed soon,no I couldn't even contemplate that.
Never like the idea of former players returning as manager. That pic's recent, was just a visit though, he was on a brake in London and visited 'Arry (supposedly) I think I read.
Would certainly keep Luka around! Might be worth hiring for that reason alone Has done great with Croatia but would he be suited to club level at the moment? Even so a club who have a high ambitions? Every manager comes with a risk though don't get me wrong.
I do like the guy, but has no experience of club football (i think) I think the players would like and respect him but not enough experience for me to take us to that next level. Saying that im sure Modric would be happy.
'Arry was brought in to turn our league form around - European experience was not a concern at the titme, due to us having an utterly dismal start and the players looking about as united on the pitch as the former Yugoslavia. (Oh, and Ensil? We were in Europe that season, playing in the Europa League...)
We'd never played in the CL at that point, so there was no need to hire a manager with experience in that competition (besides, the guy we'd just sacked had Champions League experience) Besides, we faced teams that regularly feature in the CL that season, namely Udinese, Dinamo Zagreb and Shakhtar Donetsk. You don't gain experience like that in friendlies.
One of very few names that could keep Modric, but has no club experience at all. He was caretaker for a handful of Hadjuk Split games 10 years ago, did nothing for 2 years, then since 2004 became Croatia U21 coach followed by the senior team. Experience isn't essential as proved by Mr. Guardiola, but you could argue Dot Cotton could manage that team and do alright! A step into the unknown for Bilic, so I really don't know what else to say.
Hiddink if available. I like the idea of Klinsmann. Risky, yes, but I think it's a good match. Other than those two...it's someone I don't know. Whoever the best really young manager is. (My local Steelers signed three coaches in fifty years, each time a relatively unknown guy in his thirties.)
Bilic speaks perfect English, Italian and German and obviously Croat. That's a big plus over Ramos, he could convince decent foreign players to join us. 'Arry was always a chance. I'd prefer to take a chance with Bilic rather than some of the names that have been banded about. Give him a two year contract, average salary plus a big bonuses for success. Then see where that takes us.
Like i said earlier keeping Modric here and happy is essential, more essential than the way some inexperienced names mentioned here have their current teams playing imo. They have them playing good football in mid-table, not an achievement to be sneered at, but are still miles away from the required standard here. Its a massive plus for Bilic as far as Luka is concerned, but would still be a bit of punt tbh, not a bad one though.
