1) Swansea play Premiership Football next season. 2) Swansea finished the highest of all three promoted sides. 3) Man City win the title (Stuff that Manure, Dai & Old Bacon Face) 4) We finished above Norwich (Had a feeling we would all season) 5) We finished above Sunderland (How nice is that given their mouthy supporters, Up yours Syd the super mode) 6) We finished above QPR, well that wasn't difficult! 7) We beat the Champions this season. .................... please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
We have done superb Dragon, i thought we would be relegation candidates this season but not once have we really looked in trouble!! i would say we are 2-3 players away from being comfortable mid table team in this league. I took stick from fellow posters this year for having the gaul to suggest we should be beating the likes of Aston villa and sunderland as they were nothing special, glad to see we finished above them !! And to the poster who suggested Aston villa were a top 8 team... The hard work will start again in the next few days for the manager, i like the sounds he is making about moving players on and bringing in new players to keep us hungry, it is important to build when you are successful and i think the board will give him unprecidented backing in the summer. finishing 11th probably puts us a few million up on our budget plans, that is not to be underestimated!! the way to look at the extra money earned from 17th to 11th is that the money gained will equal our record signing !! (more actually) that is just amazing Well donr to the players, i so much wish i was home right now taking in the atmosphere and getting down to wind street to join in the party , im so proud of the boys and our amazing Jack army !!
Frantic end to the season at the top though Norway, glad QPR didn't spoil that party! Anyway all promoted sides stay up, is that a first?? Next season is going to be tougher though, and at the moment I'm still trying to work out who the bottom three will be!......................................
I dont think its a first but im gutted QPR stayed up ! they will be strong next season and nowhere near relegation with hughes in control, Bolton with their financial problems would have been a far better option for me. Amazing end to the season, Neil taylor was incredible today, he stood out as the best full back on the field. Leon britton frst half looked like a Nailed on England player but got tired as the game went on . Its just amazing to see us in the prem league out playing massive clubs on a shoestring , Im so proud of the team, fans and city
The pleasing thing for me is the likes of Vorm coming out and saying he is happy to stay at swansea and enjoys living here, same positive comments from Gylfi as well, this type of thing will not go unoticed with potential new signings especially when Vorm starts telling his fellow Dutch players where they should move to in the summer..
Valid points there Norway, One tour around Gower, and your hooked, just need those training facilities sorted this summer though!.....................
Thought my new year predictions were quite good....... http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/112501-My-2012-predictions
Can't remember if I voted but I did predict we'd be just inside bottom half and that we'd be highest of the promoted teams. I'm normall crap at predictions too!
Aswan bit of a mixed bag there mate, anyway myself and neveroffside predicted a 14th position so 11th is excellent as far as I'm concerned and a credit to our total football philosophy!.................
Dragon, we've also got the best fans in Wales too. The Liberty was rocking today, what an atmosphere from start to finish.
Not only did we beat the champions, but also the richest club in world football. We drew with the Champions League finalists (and possible winners) - Chelsea, we beat the most successful English club in European football history (Liverpool) and two other European Cup winners (Aston Villa and Celtic). We beat the second most successful side in Premier League history (Arsenal) and drew with an in form Tottenham Hotspur. In a season when Arsenal conceded 8, Man U, Norwich and QPR 6 and Chelsea and Spurs 5 (at home) the most goals that the Swans conceded in a match was 4. And we had 14 clean sheets! What a season
My 5 reasons to be cheerful ( but dont tell the wife and kids ) Awesome Team Awesome Manager Awesome Board Awesome Football Awesome Fans (the order can be changed due to preference)
Echo everybody else's comments above. Time for us supporters to kick back a little, relax and revel in it all, before we get down to the hard work of fretting, debating and bull ****ting about next season.
