    Premier League Table Standings

3rd with a 7 point cushion and 12 games to go. 5 defeats in 26 games, Healthy goal difference, top of the pile for London clubs.

    It isn't all bad lads/ladies.

Until I know it is a blip, not a slump I won't be cheering up.

    Slump?

    0-0 at Anfield
    5-0 against Newcastle
    0-0 at Stevenage

This was our first defeat since we lost to City away (they've won 13/13) in the last minute.

Even if we lose to Man Utd I don't think we should worry too much. The sides below us have to play each other still and none of them look like going on a spectacular run.

I don't want to come over all OnlyOneDB on this, I am fairly confident we will rally. However of the 3 games you mention, Pool smashed us but couldn't find a killer touch, Newcastle was good, Stevenage 0-0 could well form part of a slump! They are 3rd tier, we should be beating them easily.

I don't think we can start predicting the result in the United game until the ref has been named :(

I just assume we will get screwed whoever the ref is for the game.

It's a brave man who makes a statement like that on the basis of one game.

I the Piskie is trying to prove a point that he's been right all along and the other Arsenal lot on his board have been over reacting.

Arsenal won because we let them get back into the game and play their way, on top of the fact we totally forgot how to defend. Pissing about in defence gave away 2 goals just before half time and gave Arsenal the lift they needed. If we closed them down from the start we would have won... we were 2 nil up without even trying which makes the whole game so much harder to take because if we stopped Arsenal quickly they would have given up by half time. Basically we've not only lost to them but gave them a lift in the process.

Not sure how long it will last when they play pool and AC.

it just amazed me how clueless we became...i cannot believe we were not mentally ready for a NLD....infact im disgusted and had we been sat in 6th or 7th i would have vented my real feelings about yesterday...but if i say too much people might think im being spoilt since we have had a great season...and curently sit in 3rd.

Im not too worried about those below us...im more worried about the fact that we dont seem up for the fight..its all good having a good home record but we dont play all our games at home...yesterday what hurt me was how we didnt look up to it..no fight and even the best of our team disapeared.

Ive said 2 things for weeks and have said one of them for months and i dont know if anyone sees this also..or if they do they will justify it with some rubbish about the bigger picture.

Parker is awsome...dont get me wrong...but for me he puts the defense in the shcit too much...no doubt some will counter that by saying he protects the defence alot too...for me that does not make it ok for him to be clumsy in and around the area....far too much and in every match i watch him in.

Bale...great player and essential for us for the obvious reason...but i think they hype has got too him a bit too much...for me on many occasions when the pass is on he puts his head down and decides to go for a run which usually ends up with him in a corner or rolling around like he plays for Barca im afraid to say..however i dont blame him for diving at times..because refs dont protect him etc i know all the excuses...but for me hes become far too greedy for a team player.

am i nit picking? i dont think so..we just kept quiet because results were going for us.

Friedel is an improvement on Gomes which just shows how rubbish Gomes had become....puts some cracking instinct saves in but for me for a keeper in a team chalenging top 3..he seems quite static with the balls in the 6 yard box and does let a few fly by that could have been prevented if he reacted a tad earlier.

Said it before will say it again...Walker is good running forward but hes no brilliant defender yet and his positioning is god awful..

For me this team has believed the hype and forgotten that they hype needs feeding with performances or it becomes embarassing....more so for us fans..we dont have the comforts they have..we just have a team to what we put all our mercies into in the hope that they will make us proud of having fight..that is all...i dont expect to win every match.

p.s If we want to be with the big boys then we have to change our attitude and Stevenage was a cack result away from home and bad prep for the derby...we are better than Stevenage....and call it disrespect or whatever but we should be trouncing them...after all we do aspire to be playing top euro teams in the CL....this team thinks that is it's rightful place..well then you got to overcome the likes of Stevenage..but all it takes is a bit of tinkering and the team goes to pot..baffling...and bloody frustrating..and also for me the achilles heel in Harry Redknapp's management.

    onwards and upwards...COYS!!!

Oh, dear! Even if this is the start of our collapse, how does that prove that it's the start of your winning streak? It's usually about this point in the season when AFC bottles it. Let's be honest, you're going to struggle to hang to a top 4 slot, let alone compete for 3rd.

By the way, thanks for the quote. It looks great in my signature <ok>

Next few games will tell. Utd, followed by Everton & Chelsea away. If we can come through that without too much damage, we should be o.k. It's an if, though, after the damage done yesterday. We will now find out how tough our players really are!

I did try to keep it short, I really did, but there are so many choice comments that I find it impossible to help myself.

I'm not talking about King's comment specifically or HIAG's signature, but if long sigs are troubling anyone then they'll probably be happy to know that you can turn them off.
Go to Control Panel, then General Settings, scroll down to Thread Display options and un-tick the appropriate box.
