I'm watching Reading v Leeds and noway do Reading play as good football as we do, everytime they get the ball, they try and dribble it into the net, wheras we try and pass it into the net. I must admit, I prefer how City play. PS - Becchio is a complete and utter cheat.
this is the main issue i have at the moment, this myth that our football is brilliant.. reading looked dangerous everytime they went forward ( in 2nd half, didnt see 1st) they attacked wide with pace and had a front 2 combining to good effect... that is good football, not 25 passes across the back 4.. they took a risk on le fondre and took a risk on roberts if we had done either, then who knows, good luck to them
Werent they in the bottom 6 or something when they signed Le Fondre? Anyway, I have it on good authority from someone involved at Rovverham that he never would have signed for us and wanted to move south.
Not a bad performance from Leeds - could have even won it if Snodgrass hadn't missed what sounded like a really good chance just before Reading scored. I don't suppose it really matters to us either way but probably the best result from our point of view
Are you sure about though chin ? Wouldn't it be nice if Nick got his total football system to work ? I don't know if he will as finances might be a problem, but if he can sign a few players who fit his style well, then we could be enjoying wins and good football,in a couple of years.
In the words of one of my Hammers fan mates *where the HELL did Reading come from?!* Fair play to them, they're getting the results.
I think Reading are the model to follow at the moment, they play attacking football and score goals and it works. On another note, I think we all knew that Leeds' primary game plan was to cheat even before this game...
Isn't this the same Reading that we've done the double over along with Cardiff? That said they've ground out results and only lost once (3-1 to Donny) since we beat them a couple of months back? Oh and their top scorer is Noel Hunt ffs
I wish people would stop all the, we play like Barcelona bollocks. We play like Arsenal, little width, no incisive movement up front, weak all over the pitch. No good at any sort of a physical battle. No out and out warrior, like a Keane, Viera, Ash, Derry. Tippy tappy stuff with no real end product.
I know what you mean but no good at a physical battle? There can't be many harder midfield pairs than Evans and McKenna?
Reading are full value for an automatic spot at the moment, with the addition of a couple of strikers it has really kicked on their season. Hard to believe we've beaten them twice! And I'd agree with ISTPLT, Reading would be the team to try and emulate, good football with an end product.
