Cheers Forever... I've always thought he could do a job up there. Maybe the gaffer thinks so too which is why he has come on up top.
Thanks I.A a good tie for us if we make it through this game, great opportunity to meet one of the big guns from the Prem in the 3rd round
Text - "Chrissy going for another touchline ban. Exploding at the lino and ref, very bad tackle on Evina."
2128: Deary me... Reading twice have headers cleared off the line in quick succession as Charlton cling on to their slender 2-1 lead...
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Ye gods, there's a different feel to the side this season - the temperament, the determination - everything.
Sitting in the car now with a big smile on my face. We have such a great pool of players who have shown immense desire and professionalism tonight. Proud to be an Addick!
Hey Guys, Missed the game due to Rugby training so I wouldn't mind a brief synopsis from some one at the game. Personally I'm glad to see Bover, Pritchard, Evina and Green starting. As for Alonso him not being in the squad seems a little odd - any one have an opinion on this?
Just got back...had a smile on my face from start to finish. Thoroughly enjoyable. We were quick, strong, skilful, supportive of each other. I could go on. From memory we hit the post twice, one amazing overhead clearance off the line, 2 blocks when their keeper was on the floor. I could go on. Back 4 were all excellent, even Francis who had to mark McAnuff for a period. Mambo exceptional against Manset who is twice the size of Yado. Green was very good (hit the post from a corner, whipped near post), Bover tidy and Pritchard my MOM. Hughe mopped up but had a couple of dodgy moments. Benson won loads in the air and Euell, after missing an early one on one used his experience and got a deserved second. Reading contributed but only looked dangerous at set pieces. We outplayed them for most parts of the game. If this is our 'second string' then we have a very very good squad. Though still no Alonso?
Terrific performance, and the score does not tell the story. Our movement was a big improvement on Saturday and there was loads of one-touch attacking play, which ran Reading's defense ragged for most of the match. I still can't believe that we only won by one goal.
Texted by Reading mate who reckoned their keeper was MOM and we played great! Wish I could have made it - must have been a great night.
Francis had a fantastic game! Andy Hughes was our weakest player today I thought. Green was very dangerous Waggy put in an excellent shift Hamer looked solid Was Pritchard really from non-league!? Benno had some good first touches I cant believe our strength in depth. We have some seriously talented players
I think the lack of Alonso on the bench and the performances of Pritchard and Bover may signal an imminent return to Spain for Alonso without him ever playing a competitive game. I'm just not sure how he figures in CP's plans!
Pritchard MOM, completely agree, I personally would consider him coming in next to Stephens, if he had better support in the middle(Hughes was poor for me) we could have torn them to shreds(and it was a very competitive Reading side) The waggy argument will roll on, in my eyes, he proved tonight he can gave an impact up top as a sub and play WITH Green(who was superb) not just instead of Also preferred Evina
Agree with everything said here, Pritchard was epic, Francis was good, but for me Hughes must be some way off match sharpness as his aged showed big time. Great night out and nothing but positives to take home COYR
Hamer - decent game, some great saves but he's nowhere near loud enough. Francis - good going forward and strong in the tackle, but was beaten for pace and vision numerous times (just like last year). Doherty - some good blocks but way too slow. I'm certain he's twice as old as he says he is. Mambo - good tackles and heading, but a few errors. Evina - very impressed, could easily push Wiggins off LB slot. Green - simply immense, 'nuff said. Hughes - some good short passes but made plenty of errors. Pritchard - very enthusiastic and attacked the ball well, but the non-league player shined through on occasion Bover - sadly I wasn't impressed at all, misplaced every pass and was constantly out-muscled Benson - same old Benson, popped up well for the goal, not much else to report. Euell - fantastic, great flair, great holdup play, and still has a Premier League touch.
