Not sure if this has been posted but have a read:

    http://www.safc.com/page/BlogEntry/0,,10281~2376839,00.html

All seemed run of the mill to me at first, but this one paragraph made me sit up:

This being posted on the official website, is it a thinly veiled reference to Short's potential own feelings?

Read any which way you like but it is true and fans should expect Mr Short to keep spending money without any return for his money

It was this line in particular that grabbed my attention:

No one expects Short to be a bottomless pit of investment that's for sure and we have to guard against a Leeds situation. However, Bruce's NET spend since Short came to the club is minimal compared to other similar placed EPL clubs (most of the big spending happened under the Drumaville era) so he cant really complain. Now with the Bent and Henderson sales, he may even be into pocket?

He surely didn't think his involvement with SAFC would have been totally without investment and we are still 2 or 3 years away from being ready to be a fully stable outfit (maybe more after we are still 7 or 8 players short after 2 Bruce years).

We need to invest again this year in particular as there is some unrest about where the club is heading since January this year and this is a crucial summer IMO.

agree with cestria bruce is probably in profit, and despite aterrible run between jan-apr we did finish 10th place, while we were all dissapointed in hindsight it was an improvement,my feeling is mr short wont be too unhappy but will exect more improvement this season

Bruce is about 15 million in profit in the transfer market with the sale of henderson.

    Cheers Steve.

Then in footballing terms he has become the owner of an EPL football club for a comlete pittance in modern terms. Compare this with what some of the other clubs have been sold for and we own our own stadium as well.

It's all well and good being in profit and having a low net spend but, when that impacts on the team then what is the point of a healthy bank balance?
Fans supporters whatever we call ourselves want one thing only success on the pitch, that will not come with a low net spend and wages cap.
