I'm really shocked, I know that a lot is expected of a manager but this is crazy. What top manager in his right mind is going to want the Chelsea job?

I thought that you were taking the mick. Well,MANY fans up and down the country predicted he'd be the first to go but I didn't think so soon. Oh hell, now what for you? Just who has to do what to stay at Chelsea? Good luck, see you.

Most of the media have Rafa Benitez in short term at least.

    That will go down well.

This is disgusting, Di Matteo is a true Chelsea legend and for that alone he deserves no end of respect. Coupled with that he has always struck me as a gentleman. Added to that I think you're at long last trying to play football the right way, this was always going to be a transitional year or two.

Abramovich has never let you down as far as success is concerned but there is definitely no class involved. Be very, very careful, Pep is also a great man who speaks wonderfully but, I doubt very much he will be able to transplant Barcelona DNA and style to you guys within a short period of time.

What then? For now it seems as though you have Benitez for the next 6 months.

It seems so wrong that we're delaying the inevitable with clueless Hughes whilst you get rid of a manager that has you fighting on all fronts after only recently having delivered The Holy Grail against all odds.

By the way, and I was warned by my best friend - in your view was Bosingwa as bad as Bogarde in terms of attitude because he's one true Count for us?

This is an actual disgrace, his record does not deserve this. Sad today that i support a club with ZERO support or belief in a manager.

Granted though, potentially being knocked out of the champions league at this stage for a club like Chelsea, is really poor. Being knocked this early when we are Champions of Europe, poor.

I have really liked Ancelotti and Di Matteo, they have not been given enough time. And i love what Di Matteo has started building with this team... Probably one of the most atractive chelsea sides ive seen on my watching life. His mistake was not bringing a strker in :(

I love you Robbie! and thanks for everything!

    With an attitude like this.

The statement continued: "The team's recent performances and results have not been good enough and the owner and the board felt that a change was necessary now to keep the club moving in the right direction as we head into a vitally important part of the season.

"The club faces a difficult task ahead in qualifying for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League as well as maintaining a strong challenge for the top of the Premier League while competing in three other cup competitions.

"Our aim is to remain as competitive as possible and challenge strongly on all fronts."

We will never be a long term success... Which begs the question, whats the point.

Roman must be one of the most ungrateful people around. Chelsea fans should boycott the stadium in protest. Good luck in getting Pep though, he will do the trick.

I would be a strange choice imo, he's been out of footy for a while and his last job didn't go well, the media are usually wrong and Liverpool and Chelsea fans probably hope they are on this occasion.

It is a disgrace but ultimately Roman clearly didn't want RDM in the first place and only when his bid for Pep failed in the summer did RDM get the job at all. Clearly therefore with the way results have gone this past month and our almost certain C.L exit, this decision was inevitable.

I was disappointed we didn't give AVB more time last season but then look how that worked out. It's not particularly classy or long termist, but Roman's trigger finger has constantly led to more success. However it's a shame a club legend has got it this time. Least Roman cares enough to still be putting in the money and to really care about how performances are going on the pitch. I'd rather that than he lost interest.

I hope it's not Rafa but that seems inevitable, at least until the summer. Maybe he can get the best out of Torres, but I doubt it.

It does beg the question, even if we finally get Pep in the summer, how much time will he get?!?!?

I am pretty astonished to be frank but would say to the Chelsea faithful....you reap what you sow. Over the years you have help RI on a pedestal and I can understand that as you have had some fantastic years under RI and maybe will again if he remains, but the guy is a bloody menace! RDM saved last season from the dreadful AVB fiasco, was rewarded with a 2 year contract - why can RI not show a little more patience? Okay, you have lost a few games and CL success may not happen again this season (although it still could) but that cannot warrant this departure.

Pep was the manager of a team that is oooozing world class talent... He is not proven himself as a manager in my opinion, Chelsea though an amazing team, and I do feel we could beat Barca on our day... We arent close to having the talent they have in our team. Pep in my opinion would not do a good job at Chelsea but heres hoping im wrong. I want Robbie back.
