It has been reported True/False,that Roy would like to keep RL on
his permanent coaching staff, with Fulham demanding 1.5m compensation from the FA..
Is this a fair request,or should we just say thanks for everything Ray,and the best of luck.
Remember if England win or make the final its a knighthood for Roy,but those he has picked
around him would also have played an important part, and we would have lost a loyal and
    efficient coach.

I think it's fair enough for the club to try for reasonable compensation, but I don't think we should stand in Ray's way if he wants to make the switch permanent. We should be willing to negotiate a settlement, but not necessarily to play hard-ball and take the opportunity away from him. Ray's years of service and loyalty mean he deserves a gracious handling of this by the club. That's my view, anyway.

Totally agree Captain. And not at all sure Ray and Jol see eye to eye after their tiff in January.

I agree with Captain and Cottager. I think when someone makes an approach for a member of your staff its fair to expect compensation. Usually the approached club starts with a high demand (and 1.5mill in my opinion is a little excessive) and that’s used as a starting point to begin negotiations.

I’ve never heard of a move falling through because compensation couldn’t be reached (although I sure it may have happened). If Ray wants to go then I’d be happy for him to move and would wish him well – he’s done a great job for us, a true Fulham Legend. Roy gets the man he wants and we get a few hundred thou to put towards Jordon Rhodes or someone similar.

Maybe Big Maart will bring in one of this brothers Dick or Cock to take over… It could be the start of a new Dream Team

A well deserved accolade for a great football man. Well done, Ray. You have no idea just how proud Fulham fans are to see you on the England bench.

Agreed with all. It's a shame he can't stick around on a part-time basis, but this is very good for him. It seems he's part of a team that's going places.

    All the best Ray.

It appears that Fulham have agreed a compensation with the FA overs Rays departure,
believed to be in the region of 700k.
