Breaking news in Talksport just now he was arrested for assaulting 2 woman , 2 that must have been a right tear up Lucky escape for us by the sound of things or does that mean we will now sign him up?
If true (and only if true... innocent until proven guilty), that will greatly effect his career. And I've said all along that I don't want QPR to have anything to do with him. I said that before hearing this and even if it's not true I still stand by it. I'm glad that QPR is a family friendly club and I don't want bad sorts here. I still think Joey is a dick head and has done awful things in the past. He seems to have turned a new leaf and I do believe everyone should be given new chances if they want to turn it around but I'm still wary of Joey.
One thing I will not stand for is violence towards women. The only caveat is if it's truly in self defence and even then show some restraint. If proven in law I will have a real issue with him anywhere near our club. I know Joey has a past but as far as I'm aware never something like that involving women.
The lad has obviously got in with the wrong crowd, and is paying the price. A tragedy for such a talented player. But there are lines which must not be crossed, and he has leapt over it !! Truly shocking.
More of a tragedy for the women he (allegedly) assaulted in my book. Doesn't matter what crowd he's in with, if he is not diagnosed as being mentally ill or handicapped, he should take responsibility for his own actions.
At what point did I say I condone the hitting of kids. If you look in my posting history I actually started a thread re. The woman who lives above me and the way she treats her kids. I've never got into a verbal sparing with anyone on here Stan and I am trying very hard now to keep it that way. No disrespect mate cos I think you are a good poster on here but your way off the mark on that one.
and probably an injudicious one, apologies Quality. Barton attacked a 15 year old Everton supporter while on tour with City in Thailand. Richard Dunne restrained him from renewing the attack. He was provoked. While at City Barton stubbed his cigar out in the eye of Youth team player Jason Tandy. Again he was provoked.
Being arrested for assault is a very minor offence and more the likely involved no physical violence. Assault and battery on the other hand would suggest he was giving these women proper clumps. Assault though is that he put them in fear of violence or possible injury. So what probably happened is he shouted aggressively and may have grabbed an arm. Shouldnt accuse the bloke of too much before anyone knows any facts
To blanket that striking a person be it male or female is wrong IMO It will continue I have stepped in on a French family who were using excess force on a child on the beach at Vias plage The wife punched the husband twice in the face who it turned out has received two eyefuls a of sand from his naughty daughter on purpose so he smacked his child and our guests took offence at that I leant my lesson to live and let live as it's the basic rule of the jungle I have concluded. There remains a massive difference between the behaviour of children in France and what English parenting has become IMO Attacking any human being deserves punishment but the reality is at any given time any human both male and female should accept that a blow for doing something wrong can be totally acceptable ... Why because it will continue as is a part of life IMO In the UK it takes just one headline to switch our imaginations onto the worse case scenario ... We know think of wife beaters and dreadful acts towards children before we know the facts and in each instance I guarantee you each case will be different yet we are all programmed or brainwashed to think the worse instantly I am honest enough to state that I have hit my ex wife Now instantly I am guessing that I am now a woman beater and my morals are useless The facts are that having found out that she was having an affair with my best friend a row developed and her words and then a punch to my face made me slap her ... My best friend later committed suicide 30 years on from that reaction my ex wife accepts that it was a moment of madness on my part But these moments of madness in the heat will never be controlled by any human being and retrospective judgments by a PC society or nanny state is bullshit IMO We all. Have to live with the scars of life IMO taken from the battle that is growing up and believe me we never completely learn Attacking an innocent human with violence without any provocation on my book needs a heavy punishment Provocation is key here and it's something any human any age or any gender is capable of The results are more than often violence and sorry but I can fully understand and accept that My three sons I am proud now have that mindset installed Never look for trouble but if it finds you then strike hard and first no that does not mean punch it means having a built in threshold for every and any such circumstance . I shouldn't have stepped in on the beach as I made things worse that day would I do it again ... Of course I would
Get him in. Buddy him up with Adel (who is apparently going to turn himself around as well according to many) and we'll be quids in again! Anyone smelling the coffee yet????
We should wait for all the facts to come out before passing judgement on him. He obviously has a troubled past. Many scenarios for the press to get their teeth into - perhaps the younger woman insisted on bringing the would be gang banger back home to meet mother and things didn't go so well? Off his wiki entry:- Personal life Morrison was born in Wythenshawe, and lived with his grandparents in Denton, Greater Manchester, before his transfer to West Ham United. He is an Arsenal fan. In early 2011, he received a 12-month referral order and was ordered to pay £1,445 in costs and compensation after admitting two counts of witness intimidation. After an assault charge was dropped when Morrison's girlfriend refused to testify, he was convicted of criminal damage for throwing her mobile phone out of a window and advised to undergo domestic violence counselling. In February 2012, Morrison was involved in controversy after posting a homophobic threat on Twitter. He was charged under FA rule E3, which governs use of abusive and/or insulting words including reference to a person's sexual orientation, and accepted his guilt.
