BEATEN ... Adam Johnson in action at Bradford.

SUNDERLAND reporter Chris Young gives his verdict after the Black Cats’ FA Cup humiliation at League One Bradford.

Mannone 3 – Never looked remotely comfortable from crosses and perhaps should have done better for Bradford’s killer second.

Jones 2 – Didn’t look anywhere near fit and needed to be taken off far sooner than he was.

O’Shea 3 – Deflected the ball into his own net and lost the battle with Stead.

Brown 4 – Made several key interceptions and one of the few who somewhat got to grips with the pitch.

Van Aanholt 4 – Had a few forays forward in the first half, but never worried Bradford in the second half.

Bridcutt 3 – Completely outshone by Bradford midfield pair Knott and Liddle.

Larsson 4 – Covered a lot of ground, but as above with Bridcutt, it was the Bantams’ midfield who utterly dominated the middle of the park.

Johnson 5 – The only offensive player who managed to partially adapt to the pitch.

Alvarez 3 – Wrong game for him and could make no attacking impression.

Fletcher 3 – Should have won a penalty, but why did he dally when given acres of space eight yards out?

Graham 4 – Left bleeding from his face after ugly early challenge from McArdle. (Wickham 3 –Should have relished the physical battle with Bradford’s defenders, but never got in the game).

    BRADFORD: Williams 7, Darby 7, McArdle 7, Davies 8, Meredith 7, Liddle 8, Morais 8, Knott 9 (Halliday 7), Clarke 8, Hanson 7, Stead 9.

About right if you ask me.

When we going to start giving Gus a rating out of ten? It's him who's limiting our players to bad performances. I'm not going to lambaste players for following instructions.

The way I look at it mate how many managers do we have to sack. There is still 50%ish of players there who have seen 3/4 managers sacked and they even went crying to the board to get di-canio sacked. Over 40 years I've supported Sunderland and I can't see away out of this. Let's get di-canto back<laugh> he must be laughing his cock off now.

We'd have been chiseled out of stone by now if we still Had PDC.

I'd be more inclined to stick with Gus if he stopped with the excuses. But he's getting it wrong and it's everybody else's fault. It's like Bruce all over again.

All I know is we play lazy lethargic football installed by the head coach. Name one player who wasn't up for the challenge in the 2ng half against QPR when Gus did change it and made us more direct? One player who didn't bust their gut and help to bombard Robert Green? Second half against QPR made me realise it's not the players this time. It's the way they're instructed to play which is the problem, it's not to their strength, they're continuously asked to be something they're not and their strengths ignored.

i would have PDC back in a heartbeat, had the ****ers worked out early doors, made them train harder so less injuries, wore his heart on his sleeve, had a great song for him,
