When we bought Kedwell I had previously seen him play for a number of non league sides, I still haven't changed my opinion, he's to slow and will never be a 25 goals a season striker at league level. Good back up but not first choice for me.
Agree 9 for effort 3 for results, not the answer to our 20 goal striker, I like him and he wants to wear the shirt and always gives 100%, I dont think Nouble or Kuffour are Jackson/Mcdonald replacements either, although both are quality players. I hope all three prove will prove me wrong or we will be in this league again next season. UTG!!
I've given Keds a 6. When he was brought here it was to be part of a partnership with Birch. Unfortunately that partnership has not had the chance yet. He was, IMHO, not brought in to get 20+ goals but to create goals for other players. He did a tremendous job at the start of the season on his own up front but I feel his confidence may have taken a bit of a knock following his toe injury and falling behind 2 on loan strikers. He has a huge amount to offer the club and once he gets a run of games and is able to build a partnership with someone I believe we will see a lot more from him. UTG
Gemini i entirely agree, Kedwell was bought with that Birchall partnership in mind, same reason Akinfenwa was bought in last year. At the start of the season last year when Cody wasn't in the team (ankle injury), Bayo was barely noticeable then when Cody came good so did Bayo. When Birchall comes back, that will without a doubt be a great partnership. I would still like us to keep one of either Nouble or Kuffour long term though, both is unrealistic so i'll settle for 1, most likely Kuffour.
for me he hasnt been able to settle what with the birchal injury, playign 4-5-1 then bringing in nouble then the injury and now kuffour. he shows promise but i think he needs to build a partnership when hes fully fit with someone as when he was playing he wins a lot of knock downs and flick on but there was never anyone on the same wave length as him, espically when we played 4-5-1 he was so isolated that all his hard work was never gonna pay off atm would have to be 6 and would rather not see him taking pens again as i think it knocking his confidence
Like jokey, I had also voted 6 and tbh I also have not wanted him to be taking the penalties again. I just don't want Keds put under any more pressure and we have enough available players who are capable of finding the net from a pen. It's about working as a team and ensuring that expectation is shared throughout the team and not by one individual.
A 5-6 from me. He's a good workhorse, but can see him stuggling to get more than a dozen goals this season at best. Not bad, if we had someone else doing 15-20 up front as well.
