Wales Manager Chris Coleman will ask Ramsey if he's OK with Shawcross playing for Wales: Aaron Ramsey will be consulted on whether Ryan Shawcross should be invited to represent Wales. Ramsey's leg was broken in six places in 2010 after a tackle by Shawcross and Wales manager Chris Coleman admits his captain could be reluctant to play alongside the Stoke City defender. "There are issues there. I'm not going to shy away from that," said Coleman. Shawcross, born in Chester, qualifies for Wales having spent five years of compulsory education in the country. === Should he be consulted? Surely it's not up to him whether Shawcross is good enough to play for his country? It's in the past, should he just move on? Or will he forever hold a grudge against poor, defenseless, lovely teary-eyed media darling Ryan who was wrongly villified after that nasty Ramseys leg got in the way of his boot? After all, it was completely a one-off, it's not like he's ever broken anyone else's leg?
I see that the ****ing stupid Stoke fans are abusing Ramsey for this. It's not him that made this public and he is not the manager who is not strong to make a decision without the help of his captain. For all we know, this could be the first time that Ramsey is hearing about this development. Coleman is just a joke and sadly for Wales he is going to undo all the good work done by Speed.
well i think it may for one adversely affect team spirit especially considering ramsey is the captain. Shawcross may not have set out to injure him the way he did but he certainly wanted to rough ramsey up and intentionally foul him. Nonetheless its a good gesture by coleman. Ramsey is really the down to earth type though and i don't see him having any complaints should shawcross be selected.
Personally I dont think it is up to Ramsey to decide at all. But I understand why Coleman is doing it. It was a bad injury and a bad tackle, but I don't think it was deliberate and we should all move on.
Because of his untimely death Speed receives a lot of plaudits about his time as Wales manager. All he did was carry on the good work started by Toshack. On the subject of Shawcross, i don't think he should play for Wales,he wasn't born here and neither of his parents are Welsh.I'm sure he's said in the past that he wouldn't want to play for Wales as he's an Anglo Saxon. It looks like the Anglo Saxons don't want him so he wants to nail his colours to the Welsh mast.Ryan do me a favour and **** Off
Fortunately all though they are both cr@p ,they are also both welsh so , thank god , they both get no where near the england squad . I know they are both useless but that is no guarantee against them being chosen , i mean look at Downing. an Anglo Saxon.
Shawcross is an Englsih animal not a Welsh animal!! I hate this trend of bringing players from other countries into national sides. Next Wales will be bringing in Brazillians!!
Chris Coleman is an absolute fool to put this out in public. How will it make Ramsey look if/when we all see that Ryan Shawcross isn't in the Welsh national team? Absolute idiot.
I actually think the majority of the good work was done by Osian Roberts and Raymond Verheijen, especially Verheijen. Why we hired Coleman as manager and not promote Verheijen was a mystery to me. Coleman has a history of failing wherever he's been.
They were employed by the FAW because of Toshack.Don't forget also who pushed for a full time coach of the U21's and hasn't that paid dividends. Before Flynn became coach the U21's couldn't buy a win, look at their record since
AMEN to that BUT, Too many fans won't leave it be (from both clubs). Sad but true. Good luck for the Season Arsenal, apart from the two obvious games.
The players don't pick the team, the manager does. Who does Chris Coleman think Aaron Ramsey is, John Terry?
I don't think poorly of Coleman for doing this. he obviously rates Ramsey more than Shawcross and wants to make sure that Ramsey wont quit if he picks Shawcross. However making it public is just mental.
It's good of Coleman to communicate this with his captain, but this should never have been made public. I can't imagine Ramsey wanting to play with a thug who halted, and possibly wrecked, his career.
Absolute bullshit, Tony Pulis clearly sets out his players to play in an aggressive and rough way. What he wants of his players is to pounce on any loose ball to win back possession because it's one of the only ways it can be done with that style, put that hand in hand with the tough 'tackling' and the over physical approach and there was going to be a bad injury sooner or later. Unfortunately it happened to be Aaron Ramsey that was the victim of that brutal assault. I don't wish Stoke good luck next season, hopefully they get relegated. Cretinous cesspit of a club.
