Good luck to him. Can't decide whether I am disappointed to see him go or not. Good to get his championship wages off the bill. I think he was a talent on his day but also had a tendancy to go missing some games. I am coming round to the idea of a complete overhaul of our midfield. I'll be disappointed to see Semedo go if and when he does, but again as others have said, these are players that have contributed to us being relegated and languishing in league one. Lets get behind their replacements and move on.
I like Racon, but in the past 18months he has had more ''off'' days, than ''on''. But he is technically gifted and wouldn't have minded him staying on. Frees up money by getting him off the wage bill- and with the imminent arrival of Alonso (apparently), we have a ready made replacement. Good deal for all concerned. 'Wall are getting a good player- so good luck to him.

Supposing Semedo did move down the road, it just typifies the mercenary attitude of footballers. They know who our rivals are but don't really care how we will feel about them moving there. Having said that, they are not Charlton supporters, or local lads, so good luck to anyone who finds better money and better football somewhere else. But Semedo and Racon really aren't any great shakes - even at League One level - so it is a case of goodbye, good luck and let us support their replacements.
totally agree we are the fans of the club but most players are not If I was looking for a new job and I had the choice of a rival company down the road or another Company in a different city (involving moving house, changing kids schools etc) ... both offering the same money I know what option I'd be taking
MILLWALL are set to sign Charlton midfielder Therry Racon on a free transfer. The 27 year-old has passed a medical and agreed a two-year deal with the Lions. The Guadeloupe international told the club's official website: "As soon as my agent told me of Millwall's interest I was happy to sign here. "Millwall are a big club and coming here will be a good challenge and opportunity for me back in the Championship."

Funny, now he is confirmed as gone, I don't feel an ounce of disappointment whereas couldn't decide earlier one way or the other. Hopefully now thats his wages are off the books, we can shore up some of our supposed lined up signings. (maybe it was the 2 pints of Rekorderlig at lunch that have put me in an uplifted mood...)

It is being reported in one of the Sheffield papers that Semedo has signed for Sheffield Wednesday. So much for all that Guff he wrote in the programme at the Hartlepool game.Footballers are just money grabbing mercenaries.
Bingo Dick... It's not about showing loyalty it's about doing what's best for yourself and your family. After all, if you don't look after yourself in this world nobody's going to look after you (unless you’re DSS scum of course then we all pay to look after you )...!! In fairness to Racon and as much as it hurts to say it… it… it’s… it’s a goo…ahhhhhh… it’s a good move for him in terms of footballing reasons too. As much as I loathe them Millwall appear to me to be a club going in the right direction and it’s a step up for him… There I’ve said it… Just off to bleach my mouth out… !! Joking aside… from a professional footballers perspective I personally can see no downside to the move. I couldn't care less if Semedo and Racon go. I've said it time and time again... We have achieved absolutely sweet FA with those two playing almost exclusively in the heart of our midfield (bar two relegations and now languishing in the wastelands of the cretinous pit that is League One of course)...!! Onwards and upwards lads…
If Millwall can coach some team spirit into him then they have a decent player on their hands. His problem with us was the lack of precisely that. Knowing our past record in this field (Darren Ambrose springs to mind) then they probably will. Good luck to him. It's only a loss to the team if he isn't adequately replaced.
I don't doubt he will go there and play well. Racons form dipped partly to not having good enough players around him IMO. In the Championship when we had a better squad, I thought he was class. When ZZ returned towards the end of that season I seem to remember them striking up a good understanding and played some flowing football at times.
