    <laugh> It is quite strange how threads change, or in saying that, looking at the ****s that frequent here, it isn't that strange at all. I will however shoulder some of the blame for this thread going off track a bit.

    R.I.P. just simply means Rest in Peace.

    it is an expression that has been around for a long long time and is used widely throughout Britain.
    this is the first time I have ever seen anyone try to give it some catholic or irish leaning.

    besides the thread is about a dead 13yo and religious discussions are best kept on a separate thread, especially the way they tend to go downhill fast on here.

    I am aware what R.I.P stands for, but as I asked earlier, is it generally a catholic thing, as I always thought it was and after I looked it up, I was proved correct. It was just a simple question, with a simple answer.
