Unbelieveably sad. Heard on the news last night that he had taken a turn for the worse which was a shock as I thought he was on the road to recovery. Even more of a shock this morning. As a keen golfer he was my sporting hero throughout my life.
A bit before my time but I recognise what he did for the sport and what a legend he was. By the time they found the tumour he had already had it 6 years and it was always going to be a difficult fight. But like someone else said it looked like he was getting better. RIP
truly charismatic player.. stranglely I'll always remember him playing "like a washing machine" against Tom Lehman in the Ryder Cup.. was all over the shop but his heart and short game ensured he gave Lehman a tough match..
