Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert expecting stick from Norwich City fans. "Now some of the fans may say I am the worst manager in the club's history because I have left but I understand that because they will be hurt". A few points here I think; 1) NOT hurting as we now have a great manager in CH. 2) As if any fan could say PL was the worst manager in the Club's history, possibly the most disloyal, impatient and untrustworthy, but I'm sure glad he's been here the past 3 seasons and grateful for what he has achieved with the team. 3) I think that giving PL stick would be disrespectful of all he has done, but also hope we don't give any applause given the manner of his leaving. We've moved on now so lets just give him no response at all (just any old manager). However if Villa are struggling come May 4th when we visit them, it might be fun to chant "You'll be sacked in the morning". How do you think we should approach the PL and the Villa games?
Will be an odd return because he is a club legend and one of the best managers we have ever had. Best that I personally can remember. However his leaving was quite acrimonious and a lot of fans will want to be angry. Ultimately Paul Lambert is a chapter in our history that is closed. But it was a good chapter. Keys just hope the Chris Hughton chapter is better.
More important. How will Chris Hughton be treated on his return to Newcastle, Spurs or Birmingham (if we get them in the cup)? Will they think he is the worst manager ever, be unhappy with his departure tactics, or sing his name in appreciation of a job well done?
I'd applaud him for the last 3 years before the game, but after the whistle goes, then thats the sentimental stuff over and done with.
How is that more important? Lambert has been brilliant for us, undeniably. I've never really liked him as a person, and for me, Villa will just be another game I want to win.
In my opinion, its more important because how Chris is treated effects Norwich City Football Club today and in the future. How Paul Lambert is treated effects Aston Villa, and for me, thats just not important.
hughton is 100% respected both at newcastle and spurs so i think he'll receive emotional and generous support from both sets of fans, and quite right too. i'll be honest, i'm a bit bored of the constant guff regarding lambert. he's left yet i've read more about him from local media and city fans than our new manager! lambert is a norwich legend - the way he left has absolutely nothing to do with it. its about the three extraordinary years of unbridled success he brought us which is what's important. he was never going to stay long term so i really don't know what people expected of him! can you not remember the way he arrived? i think he should be respected before the game, applause given for all he has done for the club, then its all forgotten about and we do our utmost to beat his new employer.
If I was at the Villa game I wouldn't even care. He is no longer a Norwich manager, yes he contributed massively, but the way he left does leave a sour taste. I wouldn't give him stick, I might applause him but I care more about the 90 minutes where we are going up against him, and I most definitely will not we appluading him than. Agree with Supers time to move on, reminds me a bit of when we signed Ruddy. It was more about not getting Forster than getting Ruddy in that was more discussed.
Of course he will get stick. He is Aston Villa manager. All rival managers get stick. Nothing more to it.

I hope he is not given dog's abuse but I will certainly enjoy a chorus of Lambert, what's the score? If we get a couple ahead.
Anyone else surprised Villa haven't been active in the transfer market yet? He usually likes to get at least some of the main business done early on, and he must have had targets his 'representatives' would have been compiling dossiers on I'm sure.
I'm sure he does but he's got to look at what he's got to work with in hand first the same as Hughton does guess that's why he's not moved yet
I think that Lambert has been brilliant for us and I will respect him as Aston Villa manager, I will enjoy the Norwich v Aston Villa games this season and enjoy the banter between the fans. I don't think any other manager would achieve back to back promotions at their own club, certainly bought some good talented players from the Football League who I thought might struggle in the Premier League and they have certainly proved me wrong.
