i THINK THE CONVERSATION IN JAN MUST HAVE GONE LIKE THIS...
"Come in Steve, Villa want to buy Darren"
"No way Niall. He is scoring for fun and making teams mark him, leaving others free to move on. Look at how Danny has progressed with Darren leading the line".

"But Steve, the offer is ridiculously fantastic. A big big profit. We'll use that money to buy another, younger forward - probably get Carroll if you want him for £15m!!!"

"What about the rest of this season, Niall?"
"We'll be ok Steve. Sittin 7th, Danny good and Frazier on his way back. Nothin to worry about."
"ok Niall, you know best. Can I have some more iffy midfielders then? I dont want N'Zogbia yet - he's next year's suprise!"
"Just get what you want Steve, we'll be fine".

Well we aren't. We are in the clarts. Who on here thinks Wigan or Fulham will come and park the bus? I hope no-one. Quinn has made a mistake that Bruce should now pay for. I think we are crap.

I have said it more than once on here, little club mentality, check my post history, should never have been allowed to leave, no ifs or buts.

Villa looking safe, we are looking ****ed, stupid, stupid decision.

Lads, much as I'm totally pissed off with how our season is going, it was Villa who tapped B€nt up, and said Judas who put in a transfer request before running away and hiding in a Birmingham hotel room.

Yes, we COULD have refused his request - but usually clubs sell an unhappy player.

I don't think NQ & SB could have done owt else over the B€nt sale.

The problem is another - bringing no-one in to replace him and thus our lack of goals.

am so angry. yet again a golden opportunity to kick on, shafted i think by the board. Quick money comes in then circumstances take over and we lose out. This is my club, our club. I honestly think the mentality is be in the second tier fighting for glory. Gives us big crowds, success. DON'T try to do well in the top tier, we will only upset people. Totally disillusioned. Taken 40-odd years to get to this. Am sick.

The reason we had to sell was because the revenue wasn't coming in through the gates!
On top of that, what is the point of hanging on to a player who wants to leave.
On the positive side, today I saw a much-improved performance by the lads, and I still can't believe how we lost this game.

He could have and should have gone in the Summer! Ok Darren, you want to leave. We'll let you but appreciate we need a replacement. Do your best the rest of this season and who knows who will want you! Bayern? Inter? Go on son. Fill your boots. Go in JUNE!

It was only 5 more months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
