Hi all, Just a quick one, just would like to say that your team on Saturday were a credit to the club. I thought despite injury crisis you guys are having at the moment, the team performed well. Overall, I think both set of fans have to admit that us (Hull) were better on the day, and are a very hard team to beat, but it was a great game. I always like to get a opposition fans view on that game so I would like to say to you guys that, your team is the best we have seen at the KC so far, despite the injuries. Anthony Gerrard won almost every header, we kept Whittingham quite which I believe was key to our victory, and I even applauded that wonderful goal your young lad scored. The penalty decision was a bit of a weird one, although it shouldn't of been as yor man was 3 yards offside before he made a meal out of a tackle. 2-1 fair result, wish you all the best.
cheers mate, i said before the match that we'd struggle and i'd happily take an away point, it wasnt to be but its one of those matches where it would have taken a monumental effort from the players to get 3 points, our subs bench had a goalkeeper, 3 defenders and a rookie striker (nice goal by the way). the international break couldnt have come at a better time, and a loan or two in have become a must for us to be honest. i cant comment on the match as i didnt attend, but we've played leicester, southampton and now hull, and earned 4 points from those games, thats not bad at all. if we can get some players back playing then our next games of ipswich, peterborough and barnsley should hold no fear for us. 16 points from 10 games is a good return, and mackay has endeared himself to the fans instantly, signing players who give nothing less than 100% like cowie and miller, and has made a good start to his tenure here
Great! Good luck to the season mate, I should imagine you'll be up there in the play offs somewhere, after we have just won the league ( i can wish can't i?) well done again fellas!
Hi Beverley - you deserved a much better response than you've had on this thread - must be all the "off-topic" rubbish we are all prone to chat about on here...... Must admit I missed it when you first posted it, and have only just spotted the thread now you've just replied to Swamp. As Swamp said, a game too far for us this past week with our decimated squad. Taking nothing away from you lot though - a deserved win from what I've seen and heard since. Would like to think we could return the compliment with interest when you visit us at the CCS for the return. Anyway, how's Oli doing? I know he has had a pretty serious knee (I think) injury and hasn't started yet, Is he anywhere near getting a game yet?
To be honest, I was scared to click in, title 'quick one' posted by 'Beverley' also scared to say I got a soft spot for Hull visit your board quite often for a read, usually some good threads to read anyway good luck for the rest of the season, I just hope we're at full strength for our next meet.
Yes, Hull is grim (people are mostly fine though - same as anywhere else) My Mrs used to work at Hull Royal Infirmary - even the staff toilets had weird blue lighting so folks couldn't find veins, tells a story
Nice comments, good game, by the sound of it, shame about the result but with the depleted squad we had, made worse by Miller going off early, not a great shock, good way to introduce yourself as a rookie striker though
Thing is we couldn`t get the game over with quickly enough, could have stolen a point but I think it fair to say a one goal defeat was not too bad. Shouldn`t knock our confidence too much. I was once in love with a girl called Beverly, got a bit too serious though, wanted more than a firm handshake when we went home after an evening out!
Very stereo typical, i dont live in hull, I work there, but I live in Beverley which is just outside it, and got voted the 2010 best town to live in the UK, so I wouldn't say its all that bad. There are a lot of crack heads, but where isn't there? I can honestly say iv been to worst places. But that just me. So what did you think to us as a team? Strong enough to challenge promotion? Our chairman Assem Allam has stated this morning that he will back our promotion push with lots of money in January so its looking positive. Cheers
Sadly not Bev, i think you will struggle and mid table will be a good year for you, also i think mid table will be a good year for us.
