Skysports.com understands Queens Park Rangers have made an enquiry regarding Liverpool outcast Philipp Degen.

The Switzerland international appears to be surplus to requirements at Anfield after struggling to make an impression during his time at Liverpool.
He was beset by injury troubles in his first season at the club after arriving from Borussia Dortmund in 2008 and spent last season back on loan in the Bundesliga with Stuttgart.

With Reds boss Kenny Dalglish having the likes of Glen Johnson, Martin Kelly and youngster John Flanagan to choose from at right-back, Degen could be on the move before the transfer window closes.

Premier League new boys QPR remain in the market for new signings as manager Neil Warnock tries to build a squad capable of surviving in the top flight.

Warnock started the new campaign with Kieron Dyer at right-back, but the former England international lasted just a few minutes of Saturday's 4-0 defeat by Bolton Wanderers before being stretchered off.

Bradley Orr replaced Dyer at Loftus Road, while Warnock also currently has issues at left-back after Clint Hill was sent off late on in the defeat by Bolton.

Degen has made a total of 13 appearances during his Liverpool career and his last outing for the Reds was in the Europa League against Atletico Madrid in April 2010.

Kieron Dyer must be lonely on the treatment table.

Raaaul - got any half decent/ not knackered surplus to requirements players you want rid of? Defenders especially. We would be pathetically grateful. And is Aquilani really that bad?

I thought we agreed that we wanted defenders? Johnson's not the most convincing in the country is he? He is one of the "star" players I'm waiting to see Taarabt up against.

Ayala was a great young centre back, but he's now gone to Norwich so you probably missed out there. There's also a young left back (Insua) who's decent and doesn't seem wanted by Dalglish. Danny Wilson is going on loan aswell apparently, he'd be better than your current centre backs.

Not that this post will affect anything as I don't think you're Neil Warnock!!

Aquilani is great, I love him and really hope he gets a chance under Dalgish. Our fans are mixed when it comes to Aquilani though, some reckon he's a foreign ****house not able to cope with this league and some want him to start every week and would prefer him to start over Adam.

I've never heard of him Jimbo, I can't remember him playing for Liverpool.
What position is he, and don't say treatment room!

I understand the knock on effect has been that it's now impossible to get BUPA if you have :

A . Live within one mile of Loftus Road
B . Watched QPR without wearing a condom
C . Ever worn any garment with horizontal stripes

He's supposed to be a right back, but he was so rubbish at defending that when he was starting he was played in right midfield.

In his first game for Liverpool he broke two ribs and punctured a lung. In his comeback game he broke his metertarsal. Then after coming back in January he broke his metertarsal again playing for the reserves. He didn't make a single league game that season because of injuries. He's a sicknote.

Thanks for a proper response. I know Serie A is not what it used to be but Aquilani got good reviews there and I always thought it was just a matter of time for him to come good
