I'm not going to harp on about Warnock but I do wish we had a more motivational manager who could get the best from our squad, rather than thinking about £55 grand speaking occasions in SE Asia

Awful game between two poor sides.
Poles played well. Chery had a bad day. Polter held ball up well. Lynch won a few headers.
1-1 fair result but they could have scored near the end.
Atmosphere was dreadful especially their fans who I didn't hear once.
Smithies 2 good saves but came out off his goal far too much.
All in all JFH must be sacked because we are going nowhere under him. The players can't pass, head the ball.
Some of the play was Sunday league football even a foul throw from Perch is not acceptable at this level.
Best part of the day was at half time watching real QPR players on the pitch.

I just think with the players we have going forward we could and should be getting more than two shots on target against a mediocre team at home. This happens time and time again....this must be down to JFH...end of

I cannot remember a shot from us in the second half. Seriously for those that were not there you saved an afternoon because that was rubbish.

I'm constantly frustrated by all our players piling back into our box when we concede a corner

Why not leave at least one player up on the half way line - it'll occupy at least 2 opposition players, and give us a potential outlet when we clear the ball (in theory)

Too many basic mistakes again today. What are the players practising between matches??

What's happening with Ngbakoto,I think in time he can become a big player for us,if he gets to play and it's in his proper position !

Looking back through this thread there are quite a few strong opinions from people who either couldn't be at the game or just couldn't be arsed. I was there, but sadly I can't contradict those who concluded from afar that we were ****. We scored a very good goal (tackle by Borysiuk, delightful pass by Shodipo and a good finish by Wzsolek), but apart from that there was little to get the crowd going. I know it's easy to pick on Karl Henry, but by Christ he is ****. Their goal stemmed from a trademark Henry non-tackle on the half-way line. His game seems to consist of running purposefully towards the man with the ball, then stopping and running towards the man that has then been passed to - he never actually makes a tackle. Borysiuk can tackle and baled Henry out on several occasions. Hard to think of a man of the match for us, but I'd probably go with Borysiuk or Smithies, who played a bit like Manuel Neuer.

I sat wondering the same. How can we get back to sylish football if we can't get the basics right.
The buck stops with Jimmy but the players have to step up to the mark too.

It was Smithies for me though with all his sorties, he was a gnats whisker away from being zero rather than hero.

QPR's winless home run continued as Danny Williams' equaliser earned Reading a deserved point.

Polish winger Pawel Wszolek netted his first goal for the Hoops from close range after Olamide Shodipo's run.

The lead was short-lived as Williams steered home Garath McCleary's cross.

Rangers, who backed manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink on Friday following a Daily Telegraph corruption investigation, have failed to win at Loftus Road since the opening day of the season.

Ariel Borysiuk shot wide and Sebastian Polter's header was just off target as Rangers threatened either side of half-time.

But the Royals, who have lost just once in nine Championship matches, carried the greater threat in the second half.

Home keeper Alex Smithies denied Roy Beerens and McCleary, while Yann Kermorgant headed McCleary's cross wide.

QPR, who have won just once in eight matches, moved up a place to 13th, while Reading are a point outside the play-off places in seventh.

    QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink:

"It's better to win three and lose one than win one and draw three. We really tried to get the three points.

"My boys gave everything and we were very positive in our substitutions, and on another day it might have worked.

"It's just unfortunate because we started ever so well and for the first 20 minutes we looked the better side and got a deserved goal.

"But we stopped doing what made us the better side and that is a pity. In the second half we tried to pick it up again and we did in stages. But it was always going to be a game of not many chances."

    Reading boss Jaap Stam:

"I think we should have won it. If you look at the game and how we played, we should have scored a second goal.

"They tried to make it difficult for us by pressing us high up the pitch, but there was still a lot of space for us.

"We kept searching for the second goal in the second half but there was always a threat from QPR, who are a strong side and have physical players.

"In the second half, though, with the chances we created, and sometimes should have created, we should have scored and that's the thing we didn't do well."

JFH seems to belive that the team gave their all, and he made inspired substitutions - but from comments in this thread he must be watching through very rosy tinted glasses.....

I can't understand why, after his energetic performance at Fulham, Washington didn't start rather than have to come on as a sub

Great pass for our goal by Shodipo, but I would've expected to see him used as an impact sub

Lynch I thought had a very uncertain game at left back, and Chery had one of his less effective games. In fact his corners couldn't be described as anything other than poor today

However, my biggest frustration was our hesitancy in going forward yet again. Yes - sitting deep when playing away maybe acceptable, but at home surely not

Two tough games coming up - we really need to see greater positivity; even I am struggling to get enthusiastic about going to our games at the moment

I hate the constant clamour for manager to replace manager, but I have to admit that I have serious doubts about Hasselbaink. It was pretty poor today against a very ordinary Reading side. I think we have a decent squad right now - built with limited funds - but JFH should be getting more from them.

Great idea, get yet another manager in for the umpteenth time and then all the stayaways might start supporting the team again.
