I say 08, it may have been 09 in the Carling cup that this happened. Horses seperating the ruck, bottles everywhere, scary stuff.

I've never really seen it happen before but that was awful.

In my personal opinion, I think this game will be almost a blank rubber.
Both clubs have bigger fish to fry, than the FA Cup this season.
Whoever wins, fair enough, they will move on.
But the level of supression, ( Even on here. ) surrounding the game will remove the sting from the tail.
The early kick-off time, the heavy police prescence and over zealous stewarding will put paid to a full- blooded cup-tie.
I really wished that, that Sky camera never captured the alledged Terry comment.
    It has ruined this game.

I can see this game going the same way as the Man U one.
    We're all up for it.
Chelsea score very early, shut us up.
Chelsea go through the motions and win 2-0.

I'm not being a pessimist, but the writing is on the wall for this one.

It always used to be like that. Going to a match, certain matches anyway, could be outright scary unless you were an complete nutter.

Horses were de rigueur at all matches once upon a long ago. So many reading this will testify to that. I really hope we've moved on from those times. Hope's a good thing right?

As for the game. Like I said if we do somehow manage to fashion a win I'll probably be all Kevin Keegan about it. If we don't then we don't. Not part of the big picture for us one way or the other AFAIC.

Can't disagree with much of that 999. Still hoping for the full-blooded cup-tie though.

I don't think this game will be the Chelsea walkover Rangers fear.

I just hope that there are no injuries and reds this time!

Probably. Never been a massive fan of the SO, althought it was a beautiful atmosphere when we won the double <cool>

It's a cup tie. Nobody thought United would go to Eastlands and win, many thought it would be a thrashing in City's favour but I didn't.

After Barnsley and Oxford United I refuse to take any cup tie for granted

    <ok>

I have said elsewhere that IF we keep 11 men on the pitch and IF we play the way we did with 9, then we could take this.

That said, we lost last time, and we have lost to teams previously who aren't even in the same league...it is the FA cup after all<ok>

Add the atmosphere and a few crunching tackles it should be a cracker.

I do hope Chelsea do keep 11 men on the pitch because Qpr were playing better than Chelsea until your players got sent off

Agree, the ref was poor but it was clear we were missing Drogba badly, even with 10 men I think we could have clinched that. Just got to keep our focus <ok>

Let's hope QPR used up all their luck that day.

Having said that, players who have played in far more hostile places: Gala, Anfield etc, lost their heads.

And the referee lost his too.

Fair play to QPR to take advantage, even if Helg made a meal of the Bosi challenge

In your favour, I think that AVB can't dick around too much with your attacking options this time. In the last game, taking Sturridge off after the first red card was confusing to say the least, as he'd been your most threatening and mobile striker up to that point. And Drogba is a few thousand miles away, so is unlikely to launch into a two-footed tackle again.

Well as you played with nine men, I can't help but think that you had the wrong nine, example would have been Sturridge still on in place of Anelka.

Be interesting to see, now he has less options due to Drogba's ACN trip and Anelka's transfer, how AVB sets up his team. Pompey game aside, you've not been that free-scoring since the beginning of December, with Lampard being the main scorer of late. As he's out, others will need to step up to the plate for you. Add to that an upturn in confidence for us, and it's possible that this could be a closer game than we'd all normally expect.

I think we have a far more settled team now. The team virtually picks itself and unlike last time we didn't have the CL to juggle

All I can say is that I hope it is a good game and that Chelsea play Luiz, who is a ****ing liability to them!

He's improved a fair bit recently; Bosi is just as much of a worry

He's been a lot more focussed on his actual role of late.

Having said that I wouldn't mind if he had a mazey run up the pitch and belted in the winner in the 92nd minute though<laugh>

Hey, let's all just hope that the game is played in the right atmsophere, and that no one does something idiotic at it all kicks off.
