On here you can actually see the game without it being obscured by ads insisting you download some cretinous program: http://footyhd.net/qpr.html
QPR have certainly started the brighter. We're finding out feet though! McGoldrick with a reasonable effort. Benayoon header over dangerous, 2 shocking Barton corners thus far.
Green you cock from Chambers, cracking save. We're certainly ontop now. Skuse is playing rather well.
Oh Anderson, what a waste of a 2 v 2 !!! Straight up the other end, could have been 1-0 QPR on the counter..... decent game this.
Off goes the popular Joey Barton, to be replaced by the popular Karl Henry. The Van Bommel and De Jong of the championship !
This is the first game I have viewed since the Leeds game, and to me this 45 minutes we look quite a decent outfit. Our workrate has been absolutely exceptional, I wonder if that will suit QPR the last 15 with gaps appearing..... Hyam and Anderson certainly do not deserve the abuse they are receiving, both have played well. Skuse looks good too. Taylor has put in one HELL of a shift. Berra's distribution has certainly been iffy. He appears very much direct! I was expecting hoofball upon hoofball, however we have tried to get the ball down and play when possible. Slow tempo sure, certainly not the superb flowing football of Royle however much much better at the back than back then also. QPR are certainly there for the taking today, however they will think the same. They have perhaps had the better chances, and look dangerous when they link up 10 passes consecutively. Simpson their RB is often finding space down our left, with himself/ Austin appearing the key. 45 to go. COYB.
Highlights of the half.............. Tommy's run from the back Taylor's last ditch tackle Gerken's save Ando's strike Ando keeping the ball in for McG
Doh, Nico Kranjaer. Too easy initially, cracking finish. We don't deserve to be 1-0 at all! Lets see what we're made of...
Well, this second half has certainly made interesting viewing! I certainly had this down as a loss, I went 2-1. First goal was key in this game, if anyone comes here after and moans and says differently has this wrong. Work to do, but we have plenty to be top 10 and compete for sure. QPR are a decent outfit.
If we get to the prem we're screwed. We rarely do well in front of the cameras All joking aside, it was a great first half. Chambers got himself in some good attacking positions and Taylor really put himself about. Shame about the result but at least we kept plugging away and got a goal in the end. Well done lads.
Returning to the second half problems from earlier in the season. As always I'm judging from what I read on-line but it seems some of the papered over cracks that San Diego's thread brought to light were exposed today. Need a more Natural RB and someone who can link defence to attack reliably for 90+mins in the centre of the park. Still top 10 within 1 result (3 points) of the play-offs, move on to the next one.
Well said San Diego. We were marginally I would say the better side first half. That said, football is a 90 minute game! I did wonder what we'd have left in the tank as the game went further. QPR have class in their SQUAD left right and centre, rightly so considering the wages they pay! Lets bounce back at Millwall then. Mick usually gets a response. We're better on the road this season, I certainly think we'll get at least a point at the Den based on what I saw tonight ( it's 12.05am in Thailand ) Much to work on, however, Mick is the man to do so. I certainly think certain players need a rest at Preston. I mean it's Forest away round 4, not Man Utd etc so lets simply give the fringe players a go here and show what they are capable of. We're 100% capable of gaining a play off spot this season for sure. Finally, well done Taylor. Ran your socks off tonight!
Mike - Chambers had a very decent game at RB. Good both ways, had a better game than Cresswell I would say. The players to me looked absolutely fatigued at 2-0. As soon as that goal went in, game over sadly. I see what you mean about 2nd half performance, however if we're going to lineup consistently with the same 11 more often than not with such a high pressing game, we really will struggle vs the better sides who keep the ball better than us. I am absolutely positive we'll pick up at least a point at Millwall, providing we make wholesale changes to the Preston Fa Cup tie. I will be putting some ££££ on Preston for that also.
I read it was Chambers at fault/weak defending on the right for the first goal, and that seemed to 'break' our resistance, but I'll bow to someone who watched the game. and stretchy it was your thread I was referring to, sorry
Fair result, really. I thought you played very well in the first half, but our individual ability shone though in the end. Come and comment on our board, you are very welcome!
