I see this morning that Aaron Hughes is the latest player to say we need to put a good run together between now and the end of the season. When are they going to understand they need to walk the walk, rather than talking about it every week - how many times have we heard it recently. Our biggest problem this season is inconsistency, not only in team selection, but performances and results. Off the back of 3 decent performances (2 wins and 1 loss) we then perform like we did last night.
I didn't see much of yesterday's match. Was our performance up until Dunne got sent off that much different to our performance on Saturday until Morrison scored?
Roller - we looked tidy, were passing the ball about far better than Weds but as usual with very little end product. JB's tweet that we were 'in control' til the red card is a bit much. I would say we looked 'comfortable'. Since Gray took over from Jones at Weds they have been a far more resilient and attacking side. I saw them lose to Derby and Wigan but on both occasions I thought Weds played well and the results went against them. We didn't look up for it at all last night and once down to 10 men we had zero resilience or determination. One bright spark was Murphy who I thought did very well in trying circumstances. Looks more than capable at this level. Why we ever went through the Green / Cesar fiasco under Hughes when Murphy seems alright to me I just can't fathom
I thought Swords made a good point on the other thread in that for 3 away games and one home we have 6 points to show, which when you stand back is promotion form. At the end of the day it's points that count and if we keep that form up we will be in the playoffs.
Couldn't agree more a run would do wonders for morale. I'll have 400 B&H Silver & a crate of JD please.
Selective stat. Look a bit broader. Since Austinâs injury we have taken 8 points from 9 games Keep that form up over the remaining 10 games and we wont make play offs
But its still relegation form, less than a point per game will get you relegated over a season. I never said wed get relegated just that our form was of a team that will get relegated. 4 teams have less than a point per game, 3 will get relegated.
WBA 2 QPR 3 summed it all up to me Roller. For thirty minutes we looked ok'ish but had no threat about us. Prior to the penalty a goalless draw looked a certainty. What came across to me was the sheer lack of fight & care shown by the management & most of the team. I don't think anyone moved faster than a jog pace at any time. It was the worst I have seen us this season!
The trouble is we've had our run, it was the first ten games, once we played a decent team (Burnley) we were exposed for what we are. Our record since the first ten games is W10 D7 L9, mid-table mediocrity...
We have to secure something at Boro That's it Tidy football up to the sending off and credit to Wed as the goal raised their game ... Could if been 3 at half time I am looking forward to the run in
before the Charlton game i looked at our fixture and thought we could put a nice run together. alas we have failed. Cant see it really happening now. i am just hoping we get a few players back in April so we might stay in the play offs
