One of Ehabs mates from the Polo club, who has been managing his sons team in the Pocklington Under 8 B league? Am I right?
When you research modern management practices in the workplace, there is much about how modern managers need to lead via inspiration and that “old school” forceful directive management simply doesn’t work any more. People want to enjoy work, not endure it. Maybe Pulis’s recent troubles are an example of this. Players just no longer react to his type of management any more. not a criticism of him as a person, he seems ok to me, but he does seem a bit of a shouter on the training pitch and the style of football is too restrictive for players to truly enjoy. Players will also be seeing the way Liverpool and Man City play and then being told to kick it long all day - I wouldn’t want to play football like that. No rights or wrongs here, just a sign of the times?
Has anyone told the HDM yet ? Can see tomorrows headline now...'Adkins favourite for Boro job' based on **** all factual.
Well, Stoke fans got what they wished for and Pulis was out. Of course they are now in a division lower, but hey, they don't have to suffer Pulis's boring football so should be happy. Pulis had to deal with 3 of Boro's best players being offloaded because of FPP but still got them to 7th, 1 point behind a team which spent heavily. Serve Boro right if they do a Stoke.
Can't see it. Don't they pride themselves on playing the 'Swansea way' or some bullshit? You know, that tradition of playing exciting, continental style football that they've had throughout all of their history? Well, maybe not all of their history, but on and off for about 8 years anyway.
He must have been secretly pleased to get out of that polluted post industrial dump. Bad enough being at Stoke, but at least it wasn't as smoggy.
Highly unlikely. Apparently Pullis was undecided whether to continue at Boro anyway. He lives in Sandbanks (Harry's neighbour) and has a severely disabled child. He was commuting and only there a few days a week.
Don't think he will have lived, or even spent a lot of time, in Middlesbrough. Which, as a post industrial dump, is no longer polluted or smoggy, just an ordinary, everyday dump. A bit like people still saying Hull is a dump which stinks of fish.
