If you want to get really clever, name the films as well. Both minor classics imho.

    That'll do nicely.
I've played Dr Doolittle and have sung Talk to the Animals on stage.

It was on the tip of my tongue to say "Are you Rex Harrison in disguise?" - then realised he's been dead for over 30 years...

Which canal-building labourer became famous in a completely different field?

The canal in question is in a country recently made famous for its papers.

That's the canal - all that's needed now is the name of the famous person who helped build it, a Parisian who laboured on it during the original failed attempt in 1887.

Would that be Gustave Eiffel who got into a spot of bother with the French scheme?

Who was just a business man whose trips to the USSR led to his imprisonment and his Russian contacts execution?

Greville Wynne? Although he was more than just a businessman - he had been recruited by MI6 - and also claimed to have worked for MI5.

I have just seen the film.. The Courier....... very interesting.... and it portrays him very much as an 'amateur' ...and he went back to his business on his release...... so the storyline on there was that he was recruited into delivering messanges and only when caught up in it realised what they were about....

    over to you........
