thank you bristol407 for your 'apology' (of sorts) - your reply to the likes of me & brb is a little more balanced and pragmatic. I tend to agree with your sentiment - I don't think that I criticised the teams' WHOLE performance. I know it will be a very dry British winter before we achieve much in the FL pyramid - but I don't mind that too much. I concentrated more on the lack of effort in the second half - especially as we were doing OK in the first -why did we change so much ? - and then I feel I had every right to criticise PT for the embarrassing terms he used to 'praise' the effort of the team - with no mention of any displeasure for the 2nd half. I feel he was insulting the intelligence of every supporter ( & those who could not be there ). You will have gathered that I do not suffer fools gladly. In a PM to brb I said that I may be old, grey, fat & ugly - but (imho) not stupid ( other than supporting the Gills ) - I do tend to react to these occasions - because, as I say " If you treat me like a clot (or other words beginning with C ) - you shouldn't be upset when I act like a clot."
I was not sure about Peter Taylor to start off with but the football and results have generally improved. On Tuesday Gills played very well in the first half with Smith and Bayo looking really good. Second half was the total opposite, we were really poor with only Barrett and Legge doing well. When Taylor came in nobody expected us to be 12th at this stage of the season, so we have done pretty well. I would like Taylor to carry on next season if we get over 52 points. brb i still don't understand why you keep saying Taylor is to negative especially at home. We have always played 2 upfront and even played 4 when Kedwell was playing.
