I have sadly decided to clear out my programmes. We're trying to prune possessions as much as we can, prior to having a lot of work done on the house to make it easier to move around in my w.chair.

Does anyone know of a good way to pass them on? I'm not looking to make money from them, I know they're not worth much except for a few special ones. But I don't want to trash them.

They go back to 1964. I have never been able to do complete seasons, and there are bare patches when I couldn't get to games at all- 1972 to 1977 when I was penniless student stranded in East Kent, and late 80s to mid 90s when I confess I lost the will to live at the Vic.

I won't do a list, but if anyone collects and is looking for one offs, just ask.

Some big games and obscurities in there.

    Cheers <ok>

I had to do the same many years ago, GG. I suggest that you keep one or two special ones. I'm glad I did and sorry I didn't keep the Southamton league cup one. (Yes, I'm one of the 132857 people who went to that game but I can't prove it now!)

When I moved out here my collection had to go. I still have one or two that I could not let go, but I knew of a 10 year old lad in our Northants village who was going with his Dad to as many games as they could and was starting to make his own collection, and he was delighted to have mine. Seemed a good way to encourage the next lot of supporters.

WOW! I was one of the 34,099 to see Man U at the vic, but I don't recall seeing that many empty spaces.

The official attendance was just over 15000 but many more claimed to have been at that game. It is like the time Scullion dribbled round 7 Stockport players twice and was applauded by their goalkeeper when he finally scored. I know that story so well that I can't remember if I was actually there. I did see the in off the floodlight goal from Brian Owen though.

Was fortunate enough to be present at all those, as well as the ManUre cup game Mark refers to, both home and away. After the Saints match, we celebrated in the old Supporters club bar until they booted us out, then miraculously found an open off-licence & stocked up for the whole night. Work took a back seat the following day. And, yes - the number of people who claim to have been there is truly amazing - I've even spoken to guys who swear they saw the highlights on tv...

Re the Brian Owen 'in off the floodlight goal' - I don't remember it as that, although it's as good a way of giving it a handle as any. Personally I refer to it as the 'in off the Rookery roof' goal. ;)

I'm enjoying being taken down memory lane- I did see the Scullion goal- but this hasn't really helped me find a way of passing on my programmes. I don't know any local youngsters who would like a big box of WFC programmes. Any ideas? Anyone??

Have you contacted the club to see if they either want any or could act as a conduit - perhaps via the Hornet Shop

Mine are up in the attic...only covering 1983-2008 though. I stopped buying them when the adverts seemed more plentiful than the text.

Finally brought mine back home from my parents' house in Devon about a year ago. They just sit in the garage. Maybe my son will like looking at them when he's reading fully...
