If anybody wondered why so many professional footballers are loathed by the public, then take a look at the picture below. These two Dunfermline Athletic players were in Edinburgh when they came across a homeless woman and decided to get their photo taken with her, they then posted it on their respective Facebook pages. The day before, Dunfermline Athletic had a player at the High Court in Glasgow standing trial for assaulting a taxi driver. When you look into the Kenny situation with QPR over the weekend and many other incidents with so called professional footballers, it's easy to see why many people think they are over paid TWATS.
Clubs should be able to ban players from social media sites (Posting) as they bring the club and the game as a whole into disrepute. It's no different from a businesses IT policy, even though they maybe using their own device to post. A company can lose clients because of the behaviour of a member of staff. The Olympics will also have spotlighted the difference in athletes, as many were unable to walk, talk and were seen throwing up after their event. Whereas Team GB footballers who lost to noname team, just came off as if they hadn't tried.
Footballers are not proper athletes anyway. I've been to a few training sessions in my time and it's pathetic. More time spent swinging their arms and standing around chatting than actually breaking into a sweat. We have a fabulous amateur sport here called Hurling. Our guys should attend a training session and a match, it would frighten the be jaysus out of them
