Public sector pensions should be made up of the persons average salary across their career, rather than based on final salary. It is the same for private sector employees paying into a pension. Public sector employees are all fat, baldy smelly ****s (except my bird of course )
Daily mail should not count as a legitamite source. Anyway, that is complete bullshite. My missus is an NHS nurse and has looked at the private sector. If she changed to private she would end up roughly 3-4k less each year
Everybody always likes to put forward an individual account as proof of smething on this site. My friend...; My wife...; My father... I don't even care about who earns what or how much of a pension they get. I'm just pointing out that blaming the public sector for the private sector getting ****ed over is projecting your ire at the wrong source. It's the rich bankers and politicians who ****ed us over yet not one person on this thread has blamed them. They would laugh their bollocks off if they read some of the comments on here.
More to the point, who left "if there was a ****ers for crufts, you would win" on my rep? Just because I said that Tina was repulsive?
I laugh my bollocks off everytime you post one of your inane bullshit ramblings So, you think that the general public are "blaming the public sector for the private sector getting ****ed over" What a fanny.
I work in the public sector and im not on final salary, I agree that the people who are coming to retirement now have it cushty but I don't agree with changing their terms and conditions 40 year down the line!!
No, I was talking about the people on this thread. ****'s sake Start thinking things through before posting them kid
Nope, I work in the private sector (nor am I fat, bald or smelly before anyone points it out though I am a ****.)
Another know-nothing hopping on the same tired band wagon regarding pensions. I work for local government and have been informed that my final salary pension is going to stop and be replaced with an average pension. This is going to cost me thousands as I've worked all my life for local government and started on a pittance. My only hope is that they freeze my contributions already paid in over the last 20 years. I've been told I won't have a pay rise for the next 2 years AT LEAST, we have just gone through a redundancy process with another planned later in the year. I do on average 10 hours a week overtime that is not paid. My job involves getting up to my neck in drains one day and hanging off of high rise buildings the next, does this not make me a working man too? If not then I must be some fat-cat, lazy workshy lay about that the Sun and the rest of the right wing press want to pick on. Next time your bike gets nicked, you fall face first out of the pub and crack your nose on the pavement ending up in A&E, next time you leave all your empties out in the bin, next time you send your chavvies to school just think about all the "normal people" that are serving you. Just to let you know that I contribute to my own pension, the civil servants who get theirs paid by the tax payer don't work here. Nice to know when I'm up to my knees in the ****e of the public that my services are rated so highly. Cheers.
I've said quite a few times that my missus is a nurse 2 years ago she was leaving her job and had a few offers, some from private sector, some from public sector. She took another public sector job because it gave better chance of promotion and because it paid more. If she does a Saturday nightshift she makes about £350. If she done that private sector she would make close to that for a week of nightshifts. I think I know a bit better than a daily mail article says
I've only had a wage rise once since 2008, and that was £500 over a year when I was promoted to senior technician. I have been at risk of redundancy 4 times in 3 years, each time going through a professional review and seen friends get laid off with the minimum redundancy package. It gets right on my tits when ****s in the public sector start complaining because they are 'only' getting wage rises of 5%. People in the private sector hate ****s in the public sector, and quite rightly so. If there was a referendum asking if public sector workers should get a pension based on final salary or average salary, then I know what near enough all private sector workers would vote for You started on a pittance? I started on £7,500 and had to pay for 4 years of college on top of that.
