Ive always liked Priskin and I think he is a decent penalty box player. Unfortunately Towns problems over the last few seasons have been making dangerous situations but we keep blaming it on the lack of a '20 goal a season' man. We now have a proven 1 in Chopra yet we still cant create chances. It looks like Priskin will be the fall guy for our other failings but its clear that he isnt going to feature so we may as well say goodbye.

Not surprised he wants to leave.

My thoughts are " what a waste of a player "

Priskin / Scotland / Bullard probably have the most footballing brains out of everyone we have.

Sadly, his workrate is the issue at times. He certainly doesn't fit into our current " style " of play, thats for sure...

Agree with tractorbhoy. Having the so called 20 goal striker means nothing if you can't create the chances for him. I feel Priskin will do alright at a different team, say southampton where they actually create chances.

I bet he things he's hard done by. He earns a fortune as every established footballer does and he's not at any time proved that he deserves a shirt. He's got the ability - we saw a top quality player against Arsenal - he has no-one to blame but himself. The same is not true for Peters, O'Connor, Hyam, but Priskin has had too many chances. Maybe I'd be tempted to see how he plays in this side but go out on loan? Piss off. If he's not going to play then release him.

In his defence he has never really had a sustained run in the side to gain confidence.

What Priskin has needed to do all this time was maintain a sustained run into the penalty box.

People moan about the service, and I’m sure they’re partly right, but Priskin’s problem is he’s never there to get onto them. He’s never attacking space in danger areas. He’s never challenging defenders. He’s hardly ever there where strikers are supposed to be, just fannying about miles away from where he might have any contact with nasty defenders or take any goalscoring responsibility.

95% of the time he plays like a little girl. If he grew some he’d be good.

My only fear is that Chops doesn't go down the same road, if he doesn't get the service he won't perform.

Agree with San Diego and tractorbhoy on this one. Its a shame, I think he's a wasted talent. I don't even think a player like Rooney or Hernandez would have got to 20 goals for us the past couple of seasons with the lack of creativity in the team!!!

Priskin had a decent run last season, then Keane decided to shove him out the team. He hasn't been right since.

Another absolute waste, much prefer Priskin to either Murphy or Ellington.

Just to balance things up on this I think Tamas does have a point, he has been frozen out by Jewell, reasons, we don't know but can only guess.
He has never really had a sustained run in the side under this or past manager, he is clearly a confidence player, this comes from regular games & your manager having a bit of faith in you, it is interesting that chops has not come in for any criticism, his last goal was 6 games ago & for the last 3 or 4 has not looked like scoring, can you imagine this board if it had of been Tamas in that form.!

For me I think Tamas is a better bet than Scotland, Ellington & Murphy but clearly Jewell does not.
One of the problems this season has been our lack of pace, Tamas has that none of our other strikers do.!

You can't blame a player for having a bit of a moan when he is not playing, he is not even close to the 1st team at this time.

As I said just trying to add the other side of the argument.

Priskin had a run in the side last season and he got man of the match for most games during that run (albeit in a side which was losing almost every week). During that run he looked dangerous. He was making runs, getting involved BUT despite playing well he didn't score many.

Part of me thinks he's obviously an arrogant tw@ and he can get lost but the other half of me wishes we had a manager that could get the best out of Priskin because if he played like he did in his run last season now with a better team I think he could score reguarly.

I don't know what goes on behind the scenes but Jewell seems to let JET get away with things that others (Carson, Martin, Priskin) would not. For example, Jewell joked about JET faking an injury to get out of training but placed Martin in the reserves for persistent fouling and dropped Carson for being a bit big headed. Why not let Carson prove his worth on the pitch and put your arm around Martin to encourage him?
